For what it's worth, I also took the liberty of translating it to the best of my ability and came to more or less the same conclusion: Nomura wanted a more athletic-looking Tifa (which makes sense since she is a martial artist), and reduced her breast size of his own accord. The ethics department also said they didn't want them flopping around during the comparatively more dynamic combat. So he went on to add more restrictive clothing, both to prevent DOA Age 99 tit physics and to make her design look more sporty/athletic.

I think it is clear that it is a somewhat carefully prepared statement, so it reeks a bit of corporate speak, but fundamentally I see nothing wrong with wanting to make Tifa have more of an athletic build, and wanting to prevent titty physics from looking ridiculous during gameplay and being a constant disruption to the tone.

The Reality arc from 2018 was probably the most fucked part of the game (and arguably moreso than a fair bit of Nier and Drakengard, because it's primarily grounded in... Well, reality). The Fusion arc that's coming out at... Some point is a continuation of that.

So, who knows.

To a certain degree; as I said, the Taro games in which he was more involved with gameplay design are really not a lot of fun to play unless you're an autist masochist like me (and, in the case of Drakengard 3, they also run like dogshit). But Taro brought in people he was familiar with for the art and music, which I've seen praised just as much as the writing and hacky-slashy.

Honestly I just think it was Cavia (or Access) holding him back because fuck have you played Drakengard 2? I hate myself but I'd rather pound nails into my scrotum than try to unlock all three endings for that game again.

When he says it like that, it would make sense that SE will want to consult someone to make sure they get their targeted age range. They prefer to hit their equivalent of the E-rating so that way more people will buy them and of course what they consider E-rated is not the same as ours. I don't mind more grounded designs but this is FF7 not FF Tactics, and Cloud and Sephiroth are still pretty boys for the female market. Might as well make Tifa a titty monster. I mean the realistic character design argument is gonna fall flat so long as Cloud's sword weighs 700 lbs and one of your party members is a dude operating a robot cat operating a robot moogle.

That scene was dumb. Why in the ever living fuck would a brawler punchy character suddenly get into a slap fight with the evil bond villainess simply because shes a woman? Punch that bitch in the stomach so I can see her getting her just desserts.

In fact you know what? Change it into an solo fight sequence where Scarlett actually fights. Make her like the sexy temptress ninja character. Have her pull daggers out of her dress and make the player wonder where shes storing all of them. That scene has so much potential now in the remake.
