Disappointed he didn't get his sponsorship for this, I was really rooting for him to be able to cling onto and wring every last dollar out of them.
You have to wonder why the sponsors are so humourless or risk-averse that they'd avoid advertising on videos that get millions of views by people who are probably actually into the product you're selling as well as who want to support the creator, especially when you're a goddamn VPN of all things. You really think someone is going to try and cancel ExpressVPN or whatever because of Sseth video?

Or do these companies really have some HR/PR person getting nervous because they've seen the rest of the videos and think, no he'll go too far this time better not risk it.

Who the fuck do they think their customer base is? Boomer mums who go to bake sales and spend their evenings watching the news and shit? VPNs provide a valuable service, but most of the people who see that value right now are Kiwi Farms niggas, people who are highly suspicious (correctly) of the gubmint, and people who are scared of getting fired or something for wild shit they post on the internet. Why are they trying to sell to the minority of mouth breathers who want a VPN to watch Japanese Netflix or some shit and shy away from everyone else? Sseth is literally the perfect youtuber for them to get a sponsorship deal with.

To be fair, a lot of people that use VPNs aren't edgelords. So, they're likely trying to appeal to the average person more rather than take risks.

I mean, NordVPN had internet Historian advertise their product and he is significantly more tame than SSeth.

I'm aware that they mostly sponsor more normie stuff and that they do get customers from it. Who, though? That's what I don't get about VPNs. Are they selling people on hacker boogeymen or is it really retards who want to pay more money on top of their monthly subscription in order to have access to more trash on Netflix? Every sponsorship is like "Watch Studio Ghibli on Netflix uwu" but surely the majority of customers can't just be consoomer 'tards. Seems kind of like selling a handgun as something sturdy to do DIY with. Maybe I'm just retarded.

I'd say it's a little bit of both. Although, I'd imagine that the kind of people that use VPN usually are financially careful with the kind of stuff they're subscribed to.
