2017 was almost 8 years ago. Man. We'll never see games like this again out of AAA will we?

No but let's be real, AAA was doomed from the start with the big corps at the helm, but I never thought it would fall apart this hard and fast, or like it is now. But it's still there, you can play it like many other games that are better than whatever slop is being pumped out, and maybe someone with talent will come out of the woodworks and not succumb to the standard industry practices. Or won't have a strange early life on wikipedia.

Thank goodness, I was rubbing reggie videos into my gums at this point. Prey (2017 not 2006, 2014-15, 2019, 2022) really is criminally underrated, and diligent recycling really does break this already-sorta-easy game in half.

My very first playthrough I challenged myself to use no typhon powers at all. I liked babysitting my little turret buddies. I also became superhumanly good at everything and my weapons became superweaponly good at killing, so I figure the No Powers Challenge was sort of a wash in the end.

On a related note, 200 hours in on Path of Achra. Fuck Sseth.

I think he even tried to deny it at one point by saying something like 'its not fake its just a private server where I invited my friends (with the specific purpose of making content for a video)'

Imagine propping up the popularity of tranny servers (which are still dominant in player count) by completely misrepresenting what the gameplay is like. If he had launched a server at the same time that would have been really cool, he had people in the community willing to do that for him (that later tried on their own, i'm actually acquainted with the guy). Instead the video pretty much solely benefitted TG and paradise and co.

Very disappointed to see that nobody here informed Mr. Mad that GeckoGoy is running a KF station and actively developing the codebase with commits by other forum users too. The thread is full of round stories and dedicated video/clip posters, it seems to be in a very healthy place from someone who checks in on the thread every so often but hasn't had the chance to play yet.

In comedy news, Riviera Station has also managed to completely buckbreak the tranny admins of mainstream servers with a fake screenshot, causing them to ban a bunch of their regular players on the mere idea that they would play on le heckin evil kiwifarms server even though they never did.

If a pre tranny takeover spacestation is what you're after, give Riviera a shot. Or continue blowing a gasket over a 6 year old video in the youtuber thread and farm your retard stickers.

The presentation is similar, but it seems to be far more tactic based compared to bite sized easily cheesed HM. Having enemies attack one another is pretty awesome.

Kinda wish I didn't spoil the plot, but it seems to be more to serve the gameplay.

I thought so too, it seems like he only added those jokes in because it's essentially his brand to do so, that he was more interested in making an earnest review of a game he enjoys and it had very little room in of itself for any memetic humor, probably getting older and more mellow or just had a shorter time-table to make the review.
