seems like it. it's not like he needs the money being a doctor IRL and all. he should do something else with it though. the porn commission thing was hilarious in the god hand video but it's not surprising if he does it more than once.

Does Ssseth still work? I thought in one of his videos he said he is getting enough money making videos now that he no longer needs to be a doctor.

Sseth has been holding out on The Merchant's Guild. He apparently commissioned porn based on Torin's Passage but refuses to post the image(s) or review the game.

Would be interesting to see if he does dip into old adventure games much like he does old RTS ones. Then again there's a slew of other games he's never done that are all weird nitche Ultima clones.

GOG.com has become 80% Sseth based user reviews by volume.

I am curious, did Ssseth create this format that has been used by many other Youtubers this year or did he just popularize it? Once he got big I started seeing this style everywhere. And could you trace where it evolved from? For instance Emplemon was a Youtube pooper and his editing is hugely influenced by YTP in his documentaries.

It is very debatable when it comes to this kind of thing, I remember having a stupid argument a long time ago about the Spoony fuse box ding segment from his Thing review and if that inspired other Youtubers to do similar segments as I started seeing it in other places.

I am too lazy to try and remember all of the Youtubers that have a similar style to Ssseth but Uberdanger is one that even uses his naming scheme.

EDIT - Afreemanornot recently made a review of FATAL (I don't know how anyone would know about that game outside of SA and RPGCodex) and it also has a Ssseth flavour.

Yeah, that showed up in my recommended. I don't think it was particularly Sseth-esque in execution but it did feel Sseth-inspired when it showed a bunch of memes on the screen vaguely related to the subject. I knew about FATAL because of /tg/, and was disappointed that he didn't mention that if you rolled badly on Anal Circumference you could die in character creation by being born without an anus.

I'm just now getting into Sseth with like four videos watched and he's coming off to me like a mix of YourMovieSucks and Internet Historian. YMS mostly for the dialog, his pacing is similar but YMS is more from-the-gut and less focused on being funny. Internet Historian for the editing, and like the thing where Internet Historian is Hide the Pain Harold and Sseth is... um... Joseph Kony?

He just premiered a new review. And it's something short of a flash game.

I originally didn't care for his commentary but his slightly meme-worthy edge to old or indie games was cool. Now, the games don't matter, and clearly people are fine with his "humor" carrying the video. That is to say, swipe under the rug that he's a generally bad content creator, stealing content and making jokes about it, only to buy porn "ironically" from sponsorship money. Dude is Shadman of videos, and as per Shadman, is already going into a repetitive loop only made relevant by "haha ironic porn".

Yeah I feel like this one was either sponsored or he just ran into it and was like "wow this is fun". He says he won't do shooters too often, which is good. I definitely prefer Sseth as that guy who reviews old/weird games for autistic people.
