When a model is created that lacks these fingerprints, (likely for the government) won't you have people coming up to you saying it can't be faked because it doesnt have the AI fingerprint? Like it'll stop random people from causing trouble with AI, but if the government wanted to say... publish a video of Tommy Robinson stabbing a muslim who doesnt exist so they can give him life how would someone tell? You'd point out its fake and a dozen people will tell you it doesnt have the fingerprint so it cant be, even though the fingerprint was an artificial addition, and not something within the metadata as a process of AI creation, and can therefore just be disabled. We already had this with the Kentucky Fried babies in Israel and the "Is it AI" sites giving contradictory results.
The flip side would then be also having every modern camera basically write a full pedigree of information into an image so you can trace it all the way back to the individual device and then further back to the individual components and factories. If anything doesn't match up then it gets discarded as evidence. Tall task for sure but I think there is going to be some hyper regulations being passed to try and wiggle out from the AI or not debate. The only alternative to that is just simply disregarding all video and photographic evidence as it could be AI generated. I guess we will just have to wait for the first case brought before a court and see what happens next.

Some modern printers are already doing this by putting an invisible "fingerprint" (e.g. with yellow ink) of every print they do on paper. It's called a Machine Identification Code. It'd be trivial to embed something like that into the firmware of everything with an image sensor. If the original device belonging to the code embedded within an image doesn't exist in a database or can't be procured, the image would need to be considered most likely an AI fake. Would of course also mean you can be doxed by uploading pictures you took to the internet, if there's no toggle in the firmware.

If you've ever had a lifelong dream to be a famous artist/writer/filmmaker the door on achieving this is rapidly closing.

This technology is progressing at such a rapid rate that soon everyone will be able to create their own music, movies, etc. We'll see a massive shift towards personalized content unique to each viewer. The opportunity for someone who isn't already established as an artist to create a new story/film/drawing and get the gratification of it being seen and appreciated by thousands of people is rapidly, rapidly closing. Obviously nothing precludes someone from making art for arts sake, but there is a certain kind of fulfillment and satisfaction of having your work become popular and appreciated by thousands of others across the world - and that opportunity will be effectively gone soon.

I truly don't think we're ready how AI is going to fundamentally destroy the dreams of millions of creative people. On one hand, it's tragic, but the on the other there was an insane amount of gatekeeping/raping in Hollywood that you had to play ball with your politics, actions, buttholes, etc. maybe it is for the best.
Not just the "creatives" but jobs like translators/localizers are on their way out as well. I'm genuinely curious to see how college enrollment is affected by all this.
We know college enrollment overall is going down, but I'm curious to see which specific majors/departments are going to be most affected.

Creative people will make their own stories/movies that will garner cult audiences and they will charge patrons to view it etc. In my view, it's a net positive to destroy Hollywood and woke gatekeepery. The death of big "art" industry is long overdue.
Let's be honest, they killed themselves already long before AI came about.

It's not just for people in the "industry" or trying to get in. There are plenty of hobbyists and enthusiasts who do it for fun and the joy of sharing their work with people. Many of them have mid-tier art or are currently growing. These AI stuff are going to snuff out a lot of them by flooding the creative space with good enough looking AI produced/assisted artwork. While I am sure some communities will gatekeep AI and some people will continue to make art despite it all, we'll be giving up a huge potential of human art for AI regurgitated data kitbashes.

The only thing you're correct about is the fact that AI art will eventually become mainstream and flood online art spaces. You're wrong if you think it'll "snuff out" anything. If someone is giving up climbing a mountain because other people are taking the cable car up then they had nothing worthwhile to contribute to begin with. If anything, this will filter out people who take up art for the money and recognition and leave the people truly impassioned to create things.

But one of the reasons why people take pride in having climbed the Himalayas or equivalent is because there are no cable cars that takes you there. It's a statement of them spending their own time and effort into doing this thing that not many other people can. You are ignoring the human and community aspect of art creation. Few people chuck their own art into the void, or lock 'em up in a basement. They post it on social media to share their passion with others. What will happen when the AI stuff clogs up channels that artists use to reach other similarly passionate people? Let's say a few years later, an artist named John likes fantasy art, and he drew a basic lotr-inspired landscape artpiece. Who will notice it in the flood of AI art? Who will find his artwork and know that John chose to emulate the colour palette of certain scenes in the lotr films? Do you think that John will keep making and posting art when his work isn't reaching other like-minded people? If kiwifarms got spammed with gpt4 AI bot posts do you think that'll encourage people to post here?

And this is different from the anime coomer slop clogging up Twitter at this very moment how, precisely?

The stuff @WelfareNiggerQueen posted with the cowgirl is straight up indistinguishable from the kind of stuff already popular on social media. If your goal is to widely "share your passion" then chances are you're just doing stuff almost exactly like that but by hand.

I don't care. It makes no difference to me whether or not golems who do things for the praise and approval of others continue to do things they feign interest in.

I'm not ignoring anything, I'm literally just telling you that you're wrong. I'm saying people who make art for recognition and money are not making art for the purpose of art and I have no interest in what they do. There will always be ways to find other likeminded people online who are into the same art and interests you are, AI will not take that away from you. Garbage is uploaded to Xitter and other social media platforms every microinstant and yet interesting content always finds it way to the top. You just don't see (most of) the garbage because your algorithm filters it out for you. If this weeds out the obnoxious clout-chasing faggots obsessed with numbers in my drawing circles, good. You are arguing in favor of me in my stead, thanks.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say this is a genuine response out of ignorance and not a bad faith argument: people piloting Stable Diffusion webuis to make pretty pictures they like and want to share is not the same thing as a fully automated spambot posting unrelated nonsense. And, frankly, if the posts were relevant to the discussion and weren't AIDS to read, no, I wouldn't mind it. If an LLM was capable of generating posts that weren't complete fucking garbage like some of the stuff I see on Xitter or parroted on this site, I would not be opposed to posting alongside it. The bar is not high to outdo the average online retard, I'm sure an LLM could do it in the future.
I'm going to restate something I've been saying for a while: you do not care that things are AI generated. There is already AI art in things you consume, it's just hidden and modified well enough that you can't tell. You literally only care because you're aware the image you're looking at is AI generated. Your entire argument in your previous posts hinges on the values other people place on artwork and how it's created instead of the intent behind it.

that is genuinely disturbing. it's not that the videos are flawless, but they would be able to fool 90% of normalfags.

This technology should not exist and I'm starting to believe this is not something that humanity created themselves. GPT-2 was released only 5 years ago and just 5 years ago the most state of the art image recognition model was something like YOLOV4. i don't think that adds up at all, no matter how many financial resources and researchers that OpenAI (which was much smaller back then) had at their disposal.

Where do they source the data from
They probably got it from the government. Government technology is decades ahead of what we are aware of. That’s my best guess, and AI video is the governments wet dream for obvious reasons.

I care. The intent of making something up by oneself base on personal experiences on this earth and asking the AI genie 50 different prompts to do it is different. I didn't even argue about AI art quality. It looks very nice, and nobody can stop the tide. AI art will look better than what many artists produce in their lives, but I'll always value artwork drawn from an artist's abilities over AI art. No new HR Giger, Jean Giraud, Katsuhiro Otomo in the AI art age and I've accepted that.

Yes, because you know AI was used.
I'll always value artwork drawn from an artist's abilities over AI art. No new HR Giger, Jean Giraud, Katsuhiro Otomo in the AI art age and I've accepted that.
Again, this is literally the point I'm making! Hypothetically, if those artists used AI and nobody found out, it wouldn't have mattered to you. The intent was still there, but because people are currently devaluing the tool and process used it magically becomes worthless. You don't care, you care that other people disapprove of the methodology.

I'm cool with it. Current internet is fucking awful. Honestly wonder if we are just better off burning it down and restarting. This time gatekeep it properly. In the meantime I will just create a bunch of ai personalities and simulate my own local internet. Sounds great.

As for media. It's already slop made for the largest common denominator of normies. Just remakes and self referential sequels because everyone is to afraid to take a chance making something original. Already got enough pirated media to catch up on that modern media can fuck off now.
