So yeah Ricky Gervais just dropped a new special, Norm Macdonald is dropping a new special on the 30th, Ryan Long dropped something last month, so did Louis CK, there's ton of funny shit out there but usually the funnier stuff doesn't get good press because it's not edgy enough so let's talk about that shit.

As far as Ricky Gervais - Supernature it's.... good. Really good, but the at the same time it just feels like he's on autopilot. If you've followed his career long enough, you can literally hear him rehash a few bit that come from xfm that is literally 20 years old. Don't get me wrong, there's definitely a ton of good new material, but at the same time it feels like he did it more because he was offered a lot of money versus wanting to do stand-up again. It's like he had half to two thirds of a special and he was like 'fuck it, its not like they'll care'. It's definitely a must watch if you like him, and he makes some jokes that very few people would have the balls to make today, but it's kind of a shame to see a guy who has just been gliding for so long and is perfectly content putting out stuff that's good enough. 8.5/10

I never found standup funny.
Stand-Up comedy has always been cringe.
im so glad you two newfags decided to let everyone know what you're not into and I hope you post in every single thread that doesn't interest you to let people know you dont care because were all at the edge of our seats thinking 'oh shit i wonder what those two faggots think about this topic i hope they let me know soon'

Yes. I do go out of my way to say stand-up comedy is cringe. Problem?

I liked the Ricky Gervais one. Only outright laughed out loud at a few of the jokes, but it was still entertaining to listen to him.

Definitely said a few things that will get the usual suspects screaming for his head on a woke pike.
It was worth a watch.

If you want to see some good shock 80s humour (the best example in my opinion) look up The Total Abuse Show by Jerry Sadowitz on piratebay. I've seen him live twice and he did not disappoint.

I will never get over this picture.

Also Karl is the only reason his show was funny.
Fuck stand-up, only ones I found funny was that fat mexican and the ventriloquist(horrific, I know).

I saw some George Carlin toady. Reminded me how shit he was. People heap praise on him because he had some opinions in the 90s that would align him with Carl Benjamin if he were alive today. Strip away the faux-outrage and he really had nothing interesting to say. He also didn't tell any jokes. His whole act was 'socially acceptable classic liberal gets angry'.

lol dead gay thread, but I guess this is the place to post it. Someone recently posted this recording which is one of Norm Macdonald's last standup performances (he died about a year and a half later), and also an incredible time capsule as it's from March 2020, i.e. right when normies first found out about covid. Quality is not amazing but it's audible, and it starts off slow but there's some great moments in the set.

One relevant timestamp, a joke about trannies and rapidly changing social norms starts at 15:32. Also at 24:30 is a really funny bit about calling people retards, but it's actually a callback; I'd recommend the whole set if you're at all a fan.
