Yeah, bad news about Event Horizon: the developer's not having a good day.
As someone who has followed this guy for a long time he is absolutely an obsessive autistic weirdo who is way too emotionally wrapped up in the fanbase and IP. It was genuinely pathetic to see him do an entire cope stream about how sad he was, and several Xitter posts about how "The Starfox Fandom doesn't agree with me in whole, boo hoo hoo" and basically threatening to take his ball and go home.
Special mention to how in his stream he said he "didn't know Gafford (the fox in space guy) like I thought I did." Because he seemed vaguely interested in the game.
He's working on not only bringing the neglected parts of Star Fox out and up to modern standards, but also intends to do something original once he's wrapped up everything to Assault.
If the guy wants to steal someone else's IP and make a glorified fanfiction for it and dedicated 20 years of his life to it then more power to him but he isn't really bringing attention to shit, and it's pretty intensely hypocritical of him to whine since he ALSO remade 64 in his project.
It's the same sorta parasocial investment that a lot of Zeldafags have where they pour so much of themselves into an IP that they don't own and that Nintendo clearly doesn't value beyond making a fun toy for kids to play with now and again and it destroys them mentally.
I thought it was pretty pathetic when he was sperging about Fox in the movie being "too cocky" and "not muh Fox" and it's like, the dude hasnt had a consistent personality in any game, big surprise.
Also, he shits on Assault relentlessly which was the last game in the series to try totally new shit. Why would Nintendo bother with anything other than 64 over and over if the reaction to the last real progressive game in the franchise was shit on so hard it was considered an embarrassment internally?
