Is that the ugliest alien race in the Star Trek universe, or what?

RIP Ensign Hoya, her death was worth it. That ship was used to deal a major blow to the Dominion.

Interesting bit is that she was a Benzite and they were shown before needing a breathing apparatus because they can't breath oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere.View attachment 1989460
But Hoya seemed to be okay so maybe they figured out a way to allow them to get around. Maybe a device that beams whatever gas they're missing directly into their bloodstream?
yeah there was some bullshit why they didn't need their vape faceplates, like why the cardies and the wormbitches got less-sfx intensive

I'm pretty sure they never addressed, in-universe, why the Trill changed look. The real reason is that a producer saw Terry's test makeup footage and said "We've got a beautiful actress and you're covering her face with prosthetics, why?!?"

I don't think it was that bad, altho I'm not sure if those were makeup tests done partway as they were trying to reduce the Trill make up.

As for the Cardies I don't really remember them looking that different. Beside the facial hair:

They addressed that only in the books, saying that Gul Macet (Also played by Marc Alaimo) was Dukat's cousin, and had been plagued by the fact that people would mistake him for Dukat, who isn't a very popular man, even amongst his fellow Cardassians. So while facial hair is something most Cardassian would shave off, Macet opted to keep his as a way to differentiate himself from Dukat.

Wait that's hair? My brain always saw it as an extension of the ridges on his face.

I think my favorite bit of obscure ass actor trivia is that Deforest Kelley once got stalked by a Japanese school girl and chicks used to mail him blunts.

It's ironic that his character was unlucky with marriage, because that dude was adoringly devoted to his wife.

I've been watching DS9 (started mid season four since that's roughly where I stopped watching the show). Up to season six now, spacing out to one episode a week.

Dominion war is in full swing and I just watched Season 6 Episode 6 "Sacrifice of Angels" - A battle for DS9.

Fucking hell this is some next level imperial rome level shit with Gul Dukat. This is what the latter seasons of Games of Thrones should have been. No wonder people blast Voyager so much if this is the comparison.

Also I can pinpoint the exact moment Odo stopped simping for the old changeling lady.

Changeling lady: "We've arrested Major Kira and friends"
Odo "On what charges?"
Changeling fuckup "That hardly matters."

Wrong move. Bitch.

There's some weak stuff in the episode but you need to get nitpicking to bring it up and its outshone by the good stuff.

Changelings : "Odo you are one of us become one of us!"

Also Changelings : "The Law does not matter."

Odo : "Okay fuckers, I don't care what you do to my friends, but you don't mess around with the LAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWW"

What Odo and the changlings crave is Order, not so much Law.

See all the times that Odo complained about useless Federation laws and processes when he just wanted to go medieval on asses.

You know now that you mention that. I was trying to think of any time where Odo directly killed somebody and the only singular time is that other changeling. Kinda fucked up.
But he was handing over Bajorans to space nazis on the regular.
