"Riker, we're going to kick you out of the Jedi Council for violating the Jedi celibacy!"
-"No you can't, don't even try!"
*bashes some virgin Jedi Master nerd's face with his trombone*

/edit: Riker is the reason the Jedi are celibate. Because they're nerds and Riker stole all their bitches from all across another universe.

I wish we had gotten a Titan series, that would have been dope.

I've got "Best of Both Worlds" (PlutoTV) on as I work right now. Has it been brought up that those hacks at Disney stole the "Holdo Maneuver" from Riker's Final Solution to the Borg Problem, which came within a second of happening before they put them to sleep?

Piller really did try his best.

It kind of sucks that RDM didn't try and break the endless loop of Janeway vs Borg stories. I think the Borg themselves could use some time off. (I don't even know who they are anymore.)
RDM didn't really stick around on Voyager long enough to have that kind of impact, and from that interview he did, it sounds like half of Voyager's writers were hired guns who didn't really give a shit about the franchise at all, and the rest were TNG/DS9 veterans who were suffering from creative burnout.

Maybe if Moore had transferred from DS9 to Voyager when Seven was brought in and the show had a bit of a retool, he might have had more of an impact. But it's hard to blame him for not wanting to leave DS9 just as the Dominion War was getting underway, and by the time Voyager S6 came around, that show was just too far gone.

It would have been if it had been handled by the Enterprise S4 creative team. Hell, they could even have made These Are The Voyages into a backdoor pilot for a Titan series instead of Berman and Braga just saying "Hey, remember how popular the franchise was before we drove it into the ground?"

But yeah, a Titan series handled by Berman and Braga would probably have just been yet another TNG-but-worse type of show, and, well, do I even need to explain what a complete clusterfuck Kurtzman and his buddies would have made of it?

The opening to the new Thor was eerily reminiscent of the opening to Star Trek V 🤔

Watched the final cut of the Stargate premiere today. I never noticed before that Apophis has a look of complete surprise on his face when one of his Jaffa gets taken out by the humans playing cards in the gate room. Then he yells out something that must have been "holy shit open the gate and get me the fuck out of here now!!"

I also never noticed that there is no logical way in which Apophis, Teal'c and the others actually dial out to open the stargate. Hmmmmmmm...
It might of been established after the fact, and it's been a long time since I watched, but I'm pretty sure Goa'uld hand devices have the capability to remote dial.

The Hand Device might not be as robust as a DHD, but it might be able to store a few addresses on it to use in a pinch.

Looking it up, it actually was an error, the hand device dialing I was thinking about was Nox Space Magic, and Future Human Tech from 1969.

Uh, to not totally shit up the Trek thread with Stargate sperging, has no one watched SNW since Hemmer?

I have yet to bother on to of being busy, and it's seems like everyone I know has likewise had the wind taken out of their sails on the show since then.

I haven't touched Strange New Worlds since viewing the first episode and immediately dropped it once they used Jan. 6 footage to fear monger an alien race to not go "nationalist". That's when my monke brain turned back on.

No... keep going.

If that dickhead in the first scene of Stargate had called for reinforcements on his red phone instead of gawking at the stargate for 30 seconds, Apophis and his guys would have been ventilated right there and the show could have ended.

There were definitely other ways to control gates. It is just a neat question to bring up. Stargate SG-1 was built on careful retcons, after all. So we can just go with some unseen device or whatever.

Overall he was one of the less-interesting Goa'uld (especially compared with Baal and Anubis), so I don't really get why they kept bringing him back. Like the writers were challenging themselves to come up with ever-more-implausible ways to recover from death.

More of Sokar and Baal would have been good.

Too late.

This is how retarded Stargate fans are, that they acknowledge there's a Stargate thread on KF but proceed to fuck up an entirely different, non-Stargate thread.

If they weren't retarded, they wouldn't be Stargate fans and wouldn't shit up any thread with this crap. But they were, and they are, and so they shit up two threads instead of one.

Thus a Stargate fan is twice as retarded as your normal, everyday, run of the mill retard. One who likes, say, Firefly.

Simple really.

Updooting you for the hit on Firefly retards. Enjoy the leddit gold, stranger.
