About the only thing I liked was the increasing death flags for Jadzia. While I haven't watched these episodes before I already knew she was going to die at some point and it became pretty obvious in this episode. I liked Worf doing the Klingon death howl for her. That's a nice callback to one of the early TNG episodes where it was established Klingons screams like maniacs when one of them dies. The universe really does fuck over Worf a bunch when it comes to family.
I still think they should have killed off Jadzia in the previous s6 ep where her and Worf go to rescue that cardassian informant and have her actually choose to die to help the federation rather than get killed randomly by demon Dukat. That being said I find it unintentionally hilarious that Dax, who we've seen the be a pretty rigid atheist throughout the show, gets fucking murdered the one time she takes an interest in religion. I guess the prophets were having a laff that day.

Got my hands on the first part of the Coda trilogy of books , they release one next month , and one in November

Purportedly bringing the post Nemesis relaunch books inline with current TV stuff.

So far Wesley's showed up at the Guardian's planet and is attacked by what sounds like the Devidian snake things 🤔
Finished the book. Nothing really offensive per se. Unless you hate Wesley.

Feels like some kind of overblown setup for a Time's Arrow followup , but the Devidians don't get name checked / revealed until after the midpoint.

Great news:

when I heard about this I didn't expect it was like, in a week or so
but yeah that's pretty dank, to have seen Shat go this far
it's like, you look at his ancient Twilight Zone work before he wore a piece and was going thin even then, to Trek, to TJ Hooker, the movies, that SNL, the albums, Free Enterprise, Law Drama, and all, now he's literally going into actual space in real life
it's been a long road . . .
getting from there to here

William Shatner is going to earn his Astronaut spurs at the age of 90.

This won't be happening for these turbofaggots from STD or STP. Seethe and dilate, nuTrek fans.

so what's the FUCK YOU NERDS power rankings for Trek now
as far as I can see A List is

Stephen Hawking, playing himself in TNG talking shit at Actor Newton
Prince SoAndSo Of Jordan as some rando in Voy who later legit flew missions at ISIS and I think became king
Leonard Nimoy's BBW Pics
LITERALLY GODDAMN CAPTAIN KIRK IN SPACE

Don't jinx it. They still can try to send that Michael woman along with him because muh wahmen.

I keep thinking back to that doc about Joan Rivers. It was filmed a few years before her death. At one point, she says the only thing which scares her is an empty calendar.

That's the Shat, to me. Cannily surveying the media landscape for ways to reinvent himself. He's more "TV personality" than actor.

...that he charges $119.99 to see. Mister Spock ain't no buster.:semperfidelis:

I heard Lower Decks was kind of OK and watched the first episode. I feel like I've been somewhat mislead after watching the first episode, because there's just this Mary Sue character there right out of the gate. Is the whole series just STRONG BLACK WAMMAN over and over again?
That's simply a byproduct of them successfully shifting the Overton Window with nonstop woke garbage. "Hey, this is woke garbage but they tell whacky Rick and Morty style jokes!" all of sudden becomes palatable to some people.

I agree - two episodes was enough to tell me that the show and anyone who likes it is fucking retarded.

Out of boredom and curiosity I looked up some clips of Lower Decks on YouTube and after watching them I wonder who this show is for? The jokes are either typical adult cartoon shit or super deep cuts to Star Trek franchise. Normies aren't going to get the references and Trek fans don't want Rick and Morty jokes. So who the fuck is this show for?

I think a lot of those Tweets are definitely Shatner himself, but he definitely has some kind of social media intern as a joke writer of sorts. I also seriously doubt he allows the guy to just go pick fights with randos on his behalf, so he probably at least approves the general gist of anything done by that guy.

He still makes the occasional public appearance and is still sharp as a tack. There is no reason to assume he is some fucking retard being jacked around like Stan Lee at the end of his life.

This is why if you ever start feeling your mind going, give a durable power of attorney to someone you know you can trust. Otherwise interlopers can seek you out when your mind turns to applesauce and you can't see through con artists any more.

Yeah for 90 he looks and sounds fantastic. He’s also got an incredibly sarcastic sense of humor that the segment producer has no idea how to respond to. I think my favorite reaction is of Jim Carrey’s Kirk.
”His interpretation of me… lacks a certain masculinity.”
I'm one of those people who truly believes that Shatner runs his own account merely becuase why not he's clearly active in person so why not Twitter? That's enough to back it up along with other evidence.
I was so excited when I first heard this.

Eat shit new star trek actors

You know the more I re-watch Enterprise the more I come to like it.

I am honestly surprised at this. Archer is still a Gary Sue but the other characters are quite likeable and a lot of the stories are decent.

I like Soval's arc and Shan's. I wish we would see more of the Tellerites and Orions both as protagonists and villains as both races are pretty well crafted and interesting. Archer is still annoying most of the time with his Sue-ness and the human characters are bland as hell but still I found myself running through the whole series without major gripes. The Vulcans are interesting for once instead of a bland meh and I think everyone likes Shan but that might just because of his actor.

I wish we had seen more of the interactions of the founding of the UFP and less of the time war but yah..its better then I remember.

If you really liked Soval , the actor that played him was in the Alien Nation tv series + tv movies

Which was pretty solid minus the mpreg episode

There is some character development, enough to put the show leagues above discovery . I saw some of an interesting episode where Beckett almost kills an entire holodeck representation of everybody on the ship including herself. (Imagine being able to replicate school shootings on the holodeck for therapy) It's a little morbid, but I liked how it ended with her realizing she's fucked up and needs to stop.

I feel like she's more likable as a character then Spocks mary sue sister.

It has interesting ideas past the first 2 episodes, and the fact that it's openly mocking Kurtzman is a plus.

I love this scene, somebody actually does give a shit over there. I haven't seen every episode so I cant honstly tell you its entirely good, but there is something there. More then every other recent live action show at least.

(what's even better is it's on the holodeck. so that's why its all shiny.)

Toe Fungi are more likeable then space black jesus lady. You have to dip into ST-Picard to get equally unlikable characters. Even Neelix is more likeable then any characters from Nu-Trek. That's how bad Nu-Trek writes itself. Neeeeelix is a more likeable character. Let that sink in.

Still, I don't enjoy Lower Decks but that's probably because I'm not the audience its aimed for anyway.
