Just caught the latest episode of star trek. A well made and written episode that handled the topic of suicide in a sensitive and meaningful way without being overly preachy. The blob alien in the spacesuit was amusing.

Here's the thing...The Orville has niggers, faggots and trannies, and some woke style messaging but I enjoy the series, so it's not the niggers trannies and faggots that are the reason I hate nu-trek.
why is it so difficult to write a good trek series?

Because JJ didn't want to write or film Trek he wanted to do Starwars and set the tone and style of the writing for this generation thusly, and in the process pretty much tanked the franchise so hard that this could possibly be the later iteration of trek for a very very long time.

Chapel's portrayal is really just as simple as she was 60s snarky in TOS and she's current-year snarky in SNW. In both, she's still that nurse who goes "This wont hurt... much."

Current year Chapel is a whore because it's empowering, chud.
This is actually likely the writers' reason. Chapel is cool and a strong woman. So they made current year Chapel what they consider a cool and strong woman in current year.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Hurd said the decision to put Seven of Nine and Raffi in a relationship was simply because Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd looked good together. It seems as though the writers of Star Trek: Picard saw them standing near each other at a comic book convention and that’s when inspiration struck. Hurd says in the interview of this new relationship:

“We kind of knew it was coming. Our writers are so phenomenal. The whole world of Star Trek is that all of our writers and producers and everyone involved is receptive to the world, right? To what’s happening in the world, and what’s happening to that, and they put it in the scripts. And I will say that we were all at a comic con and Jeri [Ryan] and I were just hanging out, and one of our cast members took a picture of us. We were both looking good, whatever, and [the photo] goes back to our producers and writers and literally, you could just see them looking at that picture and they were like [makes whispering sounds]. It just made them go, “Wait! This could be a possibility”. So they sort of floated it to us and we were like, “all good!”

These writers are retarded. Explains so much.

And they must be legally blind. Jeri Ryan is attractive even at her age, but the actress for Raffi looks terrible. Gaunt, bordering on emaciated. Her hairstyle makes her look like an old broom.
But the worst thing is how utterly repulsive her personality is. The way how she chews out Picard is so out of left field.

Borg queen shows up, takes over the fleet, Picard decides to prevent her from taking over the entire fleet and orders the ship to be scuttled, Q shows up and sends the protagonists back in time, Elenor dies (tbh, I thought he died in S1?) and Raffi bitches at Picard, like what the fuck. "Hurr durr, you palling around with Q somehow makes you responsible for Elenor's death, even though he would have been killed before Q showed up anyway and now I pretend like everything's your fault, cause I couldn't even pretend to be a functioning starfleet member if all of humanity's survival hinged on me not being an utter cunt!".

Cool.

Thank you I knew I had seen it somewhere before -

Why didn't they make "life support belts" from TAS a thing in the rest of the series?

Would've been really cheap to use in the shows - cheap props and film or CGI effects.
