This shit is just Kurtzman Trek bringing in tourists who don't give a shit about Star Trek.
Kurtzman and Abrams and asskissing yes men simps who work for both of them are nepotistic slops who are good at writing fanfiction and looking up Wikipedia articles of Star Trek rather than actually understanding the lore behind it

Should just do another cross over with the transformers in a feature film. Why not at this point?
They already have the shitty and soulless aesthetic, it's only a matter of time.

Those ships look like what happens when someone plays too much Elder Scrolls getting stuck in Ayelid ruins is in charge of making starships.

Ironic, because Bethesda was involved with the one Star Trek game in the mid 2000s. The only work they've done was the mediocre shovelware shit Star Trek: Legacy

I remember playing it and ramming speed only results in nothing happening cause the physics engine didn't interpret it as damage. Imagine if Worf tried doing it with the Defiant and instead of blowing up in a glorious explosion, he just bounced off.

but also because I remember Riker reaming Ensign Ro out for her teeny Bajoran earring not very long before LD takes place
That scene was stupid and was only there to create an artificial conflict between riker and ro. Unless someone wants to try and convince me that worf's sash is starfleet standard issue, using ro's earings as the basis for arguments about the adornments worn by a one-episode background character is intellectually lazy.

Geordi's poor beloved mother. In addition to all the other crap that happened to her
I may have posted about this already, but that episode really doesn't make sense. Everybody is talking down to Geordi and scoffing at the idea that his mother could still be alive after being missing for a week. Where in the Star Trek Universe, that is completely and totally possible. Voyager being the most obvious example, missing for seven years. But the Bozeman was missing even longer, and that episode happened two seasons before Geordi's mom went missing.

Perhaps Starfleet believes that non-Federation planets have rape gangs roaming in the system so if someone has been missing for a week then they're considered to have been raped to death.
Those Tasha Yar episodes are so fucking weird.
