Is that just speculation? Because that's the usual reason for a bottle episode. I know it was for the bottle episode "Fly" in Breaking Bad (which I think was one of its worst).

Yeah they're usually the result of budget-blowing things like having some whacked-out episode involving lots of explosions and scenery-destroying shit.

I grew up watching MST3K so watching shitty media is entertaining for me. This season you can tell that they slashed the budget because they're doing bottle episodes, reusing sets from Strange New Worlds, and the only location shooting they've done is in a fucking quarry. The only decent character is the new first officer but they've already made him admit that he was wrong about thinking the crew of the Discovery were a bunch of histrionic faggots and that Mikey Spock is the most perfect and wonderful captain in the history of Star Fleet. And Tilly is getting fatter every episode, I swear.

There's another season? And it's live right now??

Not that I plan to watch it, but I figured I would have seen some sort of advert for it. Their marketers are really bad at their jobs.

Just saw the Breen thing. Of course they couldn't help themselves and had to explain/reveal that as well. Nothing can be a mystery. Heaven forbid your imagination is functional.

There's a broadcast station here that runs five episodes of Star Trek (one episode of each of the main series) six nights a week for a couple years, and for the first time ever last week they ran an ad for StD/Paramount+. So someone in marketing actually did something smart. Normally it's just ads for adult diapers and Canadian Viagra, which makes me imagine that most viewers don't actually use the internet.
