Something wonky about putting a fat person in full rubber lizard prosthetics. I’m sorry but these reptiles aren’t from an Arctic tundra. They don’t need fat reserves. Why are they built like they work the counter at a bakery in Echo Park?
Lizards can become obese, too.

Just give me the sweat release of death already...

Unlikely. He's a jew. They won't fire one of their own.
They got rid of Harvey Weinstein. He was an OG kingmaker, dude. All these streaming services are hemorrhaging money for networks and the first shows to go when networks downsize are the poor performers. It may take a few years, but I do not see Kurtzman Trek surviving even as a legacy product. Once they start turning Trek into an entire hour of drag queen storytime, these wretched shows will die and someone will say "make me money."

Sure but Kurtz will find work. I wouldn't be surprised if he launches the next trek incarnation. Rick Berman got to stick around for decades despite fans hating his shit.

Berman produced shows that made money, though. I seriously question how much these current shows are making beyond Reddit claughter.

Eh, they only made money cause most large franchises still broke even or better in these days. Post 2015 people got selective about what they bought a ticket for. I dragged a non-trek buddy to see Nemesis in theaters and we walked out quietly and never spoke about it again. I don't think he ever went to see a film with me ever again.

Oh and btw, Berman is also a jew. Whataretheodds!!!

Taking your friend to Nemesis was your first mistake.

Nigger, the landscape was entirely different in the 90s and early 2000s. The way Berman and team did Trek consisted of some very intelligent business management decisions. They produced virtually all the TV-series with the aim of syndication in mind, making the profitability of them someone else's problem.

Yup. But trek films had been declining since First Contact, which itself is a decisive film among Trek fans but is atleast entertaining. Insurrection sucked. Nemesis sucked. Etc. I guess I should've known better and waited for it to be released on vhs.

Spoken like a true writer. I think you dropped your tiny hat, sir. Shekel counters need to step aside and let creatives with proper motives create again.

Fucking "High School Musical" vibes, which they already did in SNW. This is just proving that their target audience is theater kids.

The real issue with the TNG movies is that the studio believed that "Trekkie" style movies would bomb as big budget action was all the rage at the moment.

So they took the Trek formula that worked for decades and decided to turn them into giant action movies with tonnes of special effects and big action scenes...which is of course exactly what the average Star Trek nerd wants to see right? Lots of fights, big explosions and none of that silly interplay between beloved characters or any kind of story arc. Just big booms and fancy flashy sights.

I idea was that there just are not enough Trek fans left out there to make a movie profitable so lets attract all the normies who love loud music and big booms! Which of course finally culminated in the abortion that was called Abrams Trek.

So how'd that work out for yah Paramount?

Sure but they broke the formula after The Motion Picture. Thats the only true Star Trek movie. Wrath of Khan is way more action and while its a great film in its own right its definitely not Star Trek by the TOS definition.

trek nerds don't mind big booms and flashy fights, but if that's all it is ofc it won't scratch the itch.

by the TOS definition.
