Yes, but the bunks are just horribly small. Unless on the off-chance of being shoved in there with Jadzia or Ezri, I will not sleep in there.
 
Sorry to be late but the chat about futuristic video games reminded me of this fever dream I had about The Game

After everyone comes to their senses, the pirate lady screams how they'll never take her alive. Riker shrugs and gives her a blast with his phaser. Surprisingly she suffers a particularly gruesome death. Was he thinking of his memories as the sub in their extreme s&m sessions?? He turns to the captain and says "I thought it was set on stun!" Everyone looks on in shock and awe at Will the murderer and the blotchy stain on the carpet. The end.

Simplicity and the Defiant-class don't belong in the same sentence. Well not in how it was put together and taking O'brien more than a while get it sorted out.

The interior layout including the crew berthing does not make the best use of the available internal volume of the ship. For 40 to 50 abroad crew it is feasible everyone could have their own quarters with toilet if they don't mind it being just that a bed, toilet, sink and a bit of floor space to walk in. More realistically rearrange the bunks so they either provide enough head space to sit up. Or split the beds and make use of the space below and above the beds for more storage for crew belongings, emergency water and rations and parts for the ship. Hallways for the amount of the floor space they take up, storage lockers should be lining the walls everywhere but the doorways and access panels.

Kirk usually "seduced" women to get information (The Conscience of the King), he had his memory wiped (The Paradise Syndrome), or he was introduced to a young blonde (Carol Marcus).

Riker really could not keep it in his pants. He went after Irishwomen with dirty feet, trannies, Ensign Ro...

Fair enough, but the point is that the Defiant ships were simple compared to most Federation ships - many of which were nothing more than glorified cruise vessels. Plus, they are relatively overpowered and no one has a problem with it. You can basically tango with anything up to a capital ship, if you know what you're doing.

Star Trek had this trashy patina compared to the sterile Forbidden Planet stuff. Aliens in bikinis.

It is a misreading of the characters, however. Everybody thinks of the Enterprise as a big swinger's club but Kirk wasn’t that promiscuous, most of the time he’s solving a logistics problem, and Riker was a Mormon compared to him. He tried the monogamy thing with Troi, then had a few meaningless hookups until she got old she came around, like, “Alright, fine, I’ll marry you."

Throughout all of TOS, Kirk only had (confirmed) sex twice. Every other "romance" he had was basically a kiss, a past fling meeting him again, or him faking it to get info then dipping.

Riker, on the other hand, had FOURTEEN explicit sexual encounters with 14 different partners, not to mention the other dozens of non-sex romantic escapades he was indulging in where sex wasn't outright confirmed but... come on.

For all the gags about Kirk being a womanizer with a green babe in one arm and a phaser in the other, he was practically a boyscout compared to Chief He-Who-Swings-Leg-Over-Chair.
