As if the Borg don't set multiple system restore points just in case they absorb bad data.
In yet another example of VOY fumbling their handling of the Borg, they are indeed that stupid. One of those annoying Borg children in the later seasons is found out to have been used by his parents as a host for a virus that kills off all Borg drones on the vessel that carries him. From memory their plan was the virus would kill off all Borg drones on one ship, then another Borg vessel would salvage the vessel and the infected nigger and then the whole cycle would start again.

Voyager looks so great compared to Nu-Trek, but man it had some big issues.

Don't forget Future Janeway doing the same thing in the finale and inadvertently causing Picard's third season.

Is the hologram character actually autistic in the show or is that just people making a joke because of how stupid she looks?

Also why does a compute program need to go to college and attend physical education classes?
The character is meant to be childish and naive in the way Data was, except these people can't write that good and the actress is a retard, so they adapted that into the character and t he character is now retarded and autistic.

You know what would be even worse? Viacom owns the rights to The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. There was a possibility that we could have had a hologram Sheldon. Bazinga, when the laugh track plays.

I ain't double posting for this so have an edit:

They have a tie-in comic. I don't read comic books because I'm not that kind of nerd so I have no idea where to pirate it. Anyone know where I can read it and post the worst of it?

I prefer the future in Star Trek, where there are time ships by the year 3000.

Instead of the future of NuTrek, where there's "The Burn" that Critical Drinker noted is like the Age of Strife in WH40K.

Critical Drinker is not a fan of the new Academy series.

I'm onto Equinox and hoooo boy. Janeway shows infinite compassion on a weekly for aliens trying to kill her crew but a Starfleet captain uses some space sharks to save his crew and he must be killed and his ship destroyed.

It's not out until April 15th, apparently, but when it drops it'll be on Read Comics Online.

There's gotta be a supercut somewhere of Janeway saying "I have to break some of our rules and make difficult choices to get us home and save my crew" and "Starfleet ideals must be lived to the letter even if it means the death of us or preventing us from getting home" every other episode.

Meanwhile Sisko wipes his ass with the prime directive because he has real shit to deal with, and let's his crew nuke planets sometimes as a treat

Having almost finished my re-watch of all the series' worth watching, and even as a horrible turbo racist of the total tranny and negro death forum, Sisko is the best captain. In this latest rewatch, Picard just seemed like such a pompous and uptight ass.

Picard was Roddenberry's vision as the perfect ideals of the Federation. Sisko is those ideals in practice. When push comes to shove, your ideals don't mean shit if you can't survive to the next day. Sisko had to make actual hard choices that he would have to live with so everyone else could sleep at night. That is peak.

I haven't really watched anything Star Trek since Beyond was in theaters (awful movie compared to the 2009 film and Into Darkness).

Just tuned back into some YouTube videos talking about the franchise and holy shit this whole thing is dead in the water like Star Wars.

Sure, but Sisko hits a balance because while he does make hard decisions every now and again, it's not the totality of his character. We see him having fun building a sailboat or officiating Bajoran weddings. For an "ends justify the means" kind of guy, he doesn't agree with Leyton's false flag attempt. When Sisko nukes the planet, he's also playing into Eddington's theatricality to lure him out. The entire subtext of In the Pale Moonlight is him agonizing over the decisions he's made and even the final line is up to interpretation because people do lie to themselves when they do bad things.

I kinda agree with Rich Evans saying that DS9, although a good show, shouldn't have been the norm. You are right that Sisko is meant to be a balance. Picard, even after the borg, still plays safe because the Federation is safe and he's still a respected figure of Starfleet. He can make certain choices because most of his missions won't involve long lasting consequences for Starfleet. Meanwhile, Sisko's fighting a war.

The problem is that morons read that DS9 is the "best" Star Trek show because it's gray and nuance situations and they assumed this is what all of Star Trek is about. I enjoy Sisko being the character he is, but I wouldn't want every Captain to be like this. Picard is respected because he's the very model of a modern Captain. Also, Starfleet ain't in war every other time. DS9 was meant to be a very specific event.

They really did a number on Star Trek, it’s almost impressive how they managed to fumble it.

It’s not even like we got some halfway watchable stuff either. Can’t say I enjoyed any of the sequel movies but I thought the ending battle in Rogue One was neat, and I hear that Andor wasn’t too awful (never watched it myself).

Best we got in Star Trek was a bad Ricky and Morty style show and that only seen as ‘decent’ by the virtue of it not actively destroying the legacy of Trek.

It’s been a real rough decade for both the big sci-fi franchises.
