i came up with a masterclass thesis in a dream i had about how that female jem hadar in that commercial is the ultimate globo homo icon and works so well that it traverses the entire spectrum until it wraps back around and becomes incredibly based but i forgot how it all came together when i woke up.
i was spot on with this, the tranny jemhadar is the best character in the show, she reminds me of frau farbisina. also it would be cool if in a later episode the people who are in charge of the autistic fat black girl hologram program were like "excellent, this is some really good data" and they basically make a copy of their personality matrix and upload that to a new hologram thats just like a little fat ugly white guy and he's confused on why nobody is licking his butt like how people do for the fat autistic black girl and goes on like a incel rage spree

Sisko is the best captain
Fuck off. Kirk was, is and forever will be the best Starfleet Captain.

I found Sisko to be an unlikeable and unbelievable personality. That may have to do with Avery Brooks continually overacting. It was like he was trying to channel the combined spirits of James Kirk, Dr. Cliff Huxtable and Uncle Phil if he was a Drill Instructor. Just terrible.

Also, I would like to think that hundreds of years in the future there is some sort of cute for being a nigger. Alas, Jake Sisko proves otherwise.

Sure, but Sisko hits a balance because while he does make hard decisions every now and again, it's not the totality of his character. We see him having fun building a sailboat or officiating Bajoran weddings. For an "ends justify the means" kind of guy, he doesn't agree with Leyton's false flag attempt. When Sisko nukes the planet, he's also playing into Eddington's theatricality to lure him out. The entire subtext of In the Pale Moonlight is him agonizing over the decisions he's made and even the final line is up to interpretation because people do lie to themselves when they do bad things.
That’s called nuance. The Sisko had it in droves. The Picard, not so much.

It may be an unpopular take, but Sisko was a very close second to Kirk, with Archer right behind. Picard et al are well in the rear view mirror.

Did I miss the part where everyone unanimously agreed that Janeway was the worst Captain because she made shit choices and her crew was constantly going against her? I agree. However, Admiral Janeway was based as fuck, a shame that version yeeted herself from the timeline but she went out like a G so hard to complain.

Problem with Janeway was that writers couldn't decide if they wanted her to be like Picard or like Sisko. Picard is the model to follow, but Sisko was an interesting character. Did they want Voyager to be simply TNG in the Delta quadrant or darker and edgiet like DS9? I think they never figured it out through the whole duration of the show.

It's really fucking sad that the Rick and Morty cartoon looks more like Star Trek both visually but also in respect to fan service and the lore. It's really fucked.
It makes me genuinely Mad at the Internet™ that a show that's written by people who obviously like (if not love) Star Trek, and who clearly have a deep knowledge of the lore (dolphins, FFS!) is patterned off of one of the most unwatchable and unfunny cartoons of the last 20 years, and whose main character is an obnoxiously loudmouthed girlboss.

Rated dumb because

>Sisko was terrible, because "overacting"
>Kirk was the best

They don't love Star Trek, they love the characters and they have read Wikipedia. When people like this say they like some media, they just have knowledge of it. All they do is bad fanfics about them.

I want to watch the free Starfleet Academy episode on Youtube so I can hate it properly.

But I am severely allergic to cringe and almost died just from seeing clips.

It's quite a Kobayashi Maru sort of situation.

Maybe I can watch it in a foreign dingdong language with subtitles. That makes anime watchable.

They really did a number on Star Trek, it’s almost impressive how they managed to fumble it.

It’s not even like we got some halfway watchable stuff either.
If you zoom out, STD came out in 2017, right? That was before every streaming service decided it needed to light dollars on fire adapting some IP no one likes. And now all that stuff is buried, a content graveyard, except for Bezos’ LOTR thing. Kurtzman is a pioneer.

My favorite is still Picard even if Patrick Stewart is a giant douche-canoe. Actually Shatner is too, but he's at least a funny douche-canoe. That said, if I had a choice between actually being Picard or actually being Kirk, Kirk is the obvious choice.

So ram gets cheaper in thousand years?
Monkey's paw being operating systems went even further into being complete shit. Case in point 2000s XP-Tan eating ram and it gone just to her bust size. As compared to that Jem'Hadar klingon abomination.
XP-Tan

I still don’t know how to rate Janeway as a captain, because she’s not really a character so much as a vibe.

If you watch VOY with someone who doesn’t give a shit about Trek lore, they’ll have a good time. And if you start pointing out inconsistencies, you just turn into some asshole TV sommelier.“Ah yes, you see, this contradicts season four, episode nine.” She’s not meant to be examined closely, she’s like a cartoon cop.

And I think the writers were terrified that fans wouldn’t respect a woman captain, so they just strapped a rocket to her and said, “She beats everything." Picard beats the Borg once and it scars him for life. Janeway beats them, like, weekly. She’s hunting them.

It’s the same problem as that Doctor Who shit where the old Doctor shows up and immediately goes, “Wow, you’re so strong and smart.” Even if 13 was good (she wasn't), that approach is doomed. You can’t just copy what made previous captains cool, you have to earn it.

To be fair to Bill, he was a stage actor in the 1960s. Dude had to act until you could see his emotions on a tiny 10 inch black and white screen.
And we love him for it, pauses-and-all. Nobody acts like Shatner. Kirk will always be a classic. He gets his own spot on the tier list as the first tbh.
