I don't think she's had a law enforcement encounter since June, when she allegedly assaulted Delores Lien. She actually owes the court a few hundred dollars, if anyone wants to pay it she might send you an autographed picture in return.

It made sense to me because I understood it as “lost girl without a family who wants to know about her heritage gains gay older BFF who’s charming and too nice to break her heart by telling her he’s too old for her and is on Grindr.” Wasn’t she about 17? He probably thought she’d snap out of it herself.
there's also good chunks of her trolling dad and Garak trolling Dukat possible

Did anybody else think this plot was a little strange? I was always under the impression that Garak was supposed to be older, like around Sisko's age, but it's like the writers changed their minds later so they could fit him in with Ziyal and Enabran Tain
Yes, they were absolutely winging it.

The whole Garak/Ziyal thing feels like political correctness seeping in. Uh, is the charming war criminal dating a teenager....?

Better make him younger. No no no, age HER up.

Well, fine, but the problem is it was never interesting to begin with. I wasn't rooting for them. And once you start trying to be sensitive and correct about it, there’s no end. Next thing you know, Doctor Who removed the villain’s makeup because it was offensive to ugly vegetables.

Only the medical staff got completely killed off by the trip. Not sure about the other blue shirt departments.
Well, we had Seska as a blueshirt for her debut episode...
Science Seska.jpg
Probably got shunted into engineering after "accidentally" poisoning that Bajoran Maquis crewmember when he came into sickbay after eating Neelix's cooking,

Seska couldn't have been more obviously villainous if she had a mustache to twirl.
But she’s wearing a gold outfit...her résumé just said "Bajoran psycho, sucked off Chakotay."
Then she went and sucked off a broccoli head and menaced Voyager with a hapa baby on her hip. At least she moved up from a sleepy Mexican. Her best episode was Worst Case Scenario.

It would've been interesting to see Seska sent much closer to the alpha quadrant and encountered later in the series when Voyager would've caught up to her, and seeing her reaction to the Dominion occupation and later massacres on Cardassia, like Torres to news of the Maquis. Maybe by then she would've seduced another tribal warlord.

She’s got this whole cover story locked and loaded. :story: Arne Darvin is rotting in prison, kicking himself for not inventing the “mystery donor marrow” defense. But credit where it’s due, it’s a cool twist, one of the few moments on Voyager where you sit up.

The second the reveal happens, her bag of tricks is empty. Just calling in favors to that damp looking spy. (He couldn’t even loosen a screw without looking guilty.)

Also interesting to compare Seska to Eddington because they're almost the same guy. One big betrayal and then they're stuck sending emails.

Here's the teaser for the Sisko episode of Zoomers In Space:

The dialog in these Trek shows is still blisteringly bad.

Nobody talks like a person. It’s all just taglines. Every line reads like some AI prompt that’s supposed to generate “spoon-feed exposition / wisecrack to close scene."

It's like those putrid Amazon and Disney+ live-action remakes. Every dime was spent on sets and costumes and zero on the actual scenes.

Who the hell in-universe needs a reminder who Sisko is. He wasn't some obscure captain; he's famous. Senator Vreenak lists his accomplishments and he's a foreigner. The only thing that makes sense in this clip is that he's considered missing in action. There's no way years passed and some chubby upstart finds him after ook-ooking in San Francisco. Sisco would return to Jake or to Bajor before some nothing in the academy. Writers plunder lore and think they're deep.
