Star Trek - Space: The Final Frontier

It's the 24th century Zumwalt. Once it was built they had to put it to some sort of use, so they kept it as a third rate planetary defence cruiser that stayed close to Sol. Just their luck that it was one of the only ships on patrol that day.

Zumwalts, and various next generation systems* on it, were canceled for political reasons not because the ship was bad. *Radar, VLS, AEGIS replacement and etc. In Star Trek terms, it's like the Federation politicians shitcanning the Excelsior class, and the new computer core, warpdrive, and etc., after the failure of "the Great Experiment." Instead the politicians deciding to have Starfleet keep building and using Mirandas.

Has anyone here played that Voyager game ?
I have. It's not terrible, but it's a little rigid and I was surprised that some characters weren't in the game in some way. Lon Suder isn't in there, seems a little odd the game didn't let you have the Brad Douriff Betazoid psychopath crewmen, but apparently the DLC lets you recruit that psychic hunter Janeway was flirting with in one episode.

So, here's a question did George Costanza and his gang really cure the Vidiian Phage?

I figure there's a few options:
1. They didn't. He was lying.
2. They did, in exchange for Vidiian medical technology or something.
3. They did, but it wasn't a permanent cure, keeping the Vidiians permanently dependent on the ThinkTank for treatment.

Unrelated bonus video:

I want to say they did since they do actually do shit they promise, but beyond that Id say the Vidiians probably paid a LOT to get it.
They were out there to fix complex problems for a hefty price and who knows what it costed the Vidiians for it. At worst, they might have done option 3 but idk if the think tank were into long term debts like that

Honestly if anything the Think Tank couldve made the Phage just to extract some very important shit from the Vidiians after they got desperate enough

Aha, the secret fourth option!
In that episode they were revealed in, its pretty clear the Think Tank is self serving
they got those bounty hunters after Voyager to get Seven of Nine then offered them a solution to that problem in exchange for her

I wouldnt put it past them to invent problems to create new clients and get things they want. Though I dont see debt as a mechanism theyd use since that might be a bit too easy to direct to themselves.

I do like how when they lose their auto translator they break down into autistic screaming "I DONT UNDERSTAND YOU!"

Ok, in the newer Treks didnt they say that the Federation had like a big android workforce and they rebelled?
Why the fuck do they need androids anymore when Photonic based workers would be far more cost effective and easier to deal with?

Id like to think an army of even downgraded and simplistic Data workers would be a LOT more expensive to build, maintain, control and direct than an equal number of holographic workers

Mmmmm, mixed feelings. It definitely has that "made to run on a cellphone" graphics so I expect it's coming out on the Quest. I do like that it's taking place on a defiant-like ship.

Also wanted to add, not quite Star Trek related, but just want to mention I have very fond of FASA as well because they created Shadowrun, which I still run to this day.
I still think it's ironic that FASA lost the license to STRPG because Roddenberry thought it was getting too far away from his view of the Starfleet way of problem solving (despite every publish adventure rewarding players for finding a solution that didn't involve phasers) and instead was just too much focused on the war and military aspect (which the fanbase wanted) but by the time of the TNG movies and DS9 and the JJA movies, everything is all action and war and phasers galore.

Because nu-Trek is retarded. That's the only objective answer to both questions.

From the reviews I've seen Star Trek: Quality Learing Academy Paul Giamatti used Omega 47 to build a wall around the Federation. Very subtle. And it's implied that She Hulk's kid got raped at some point. I can only assume he went to Turkana IV and got caught by a rape gang.

TIL that Jonathan Frakes and Brent Spiner have a podcast where they interview various other actors, and I also learned that Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating from ENT also have a podcast doing the same thing. They're both pretty wholesome, especially when they have former co-actors on.
I also like that the latter called their's the D-Con Chamber. That scene will forever live in infamy.

Huh, nice. Any DS9 fellas having a podcast? Someone give Andrew Robinson a microphone...

In fact, The Delta Flyers has moved on from Voyager and is now reviewing DS9 episodes. Armin Shimmerman and Terry Farrell (Quark and Jadzia) take turns as third mic. It's very good, especially when Armin is on.

Nice. Great to see all those fellas getting together and enjoying the olden days. I was afraid all those podcasts would be a bit pathetic, bunch of washed up actors reliving their glory days, but it genuinely feels like they're all just having a good time.
