if you're a young white male, marketing research has determined that you are the least likely group to consume and be influenced by ads. The ads are designed for children and low-IQ melanated individuals who buy products on impulse, they won't appeal to you.

Let's be honest, has anybody else here considered trying Relaxium sleep aid?

Unless you're a nigger or intelligence equivalent, ads will almost never make you look and think "WAOW! COOL AD! I GOTTA CONSUME THIS PRODUCT RIGHT FUCKIN' NOW!" In $CURRENT_YEAR where choices and bootlegs are aplenty, the way a brand can win is by making you aware that it exists, then pretending it's the only choice in that product category that matters. If you ever thought "Shit, I need to buy $UNFAMILIAR_THING. $COMMONLY_SHILLED_BRAND makes these products, right? I'll just get one from them", they won. Marketing teams are also very aware that many people use ad-blocking, so they infest mainstream social media with guerilla marketing and astroturfing that is totally real genuine heckin' wholesome human people giving their honest opinions.

The problem is that many marketers are retarded. I work in marketing and there are people who simply don't consider white men and what they want to buy. As a demo, their buying habits are clear, but marketers are afraid that what white men want to buy will put off other demographics in the same ad space. It won't, but globohomo retards will see it and spam complaints. The problem is many companies are pathetically risk-averse and don't respond to threats by simply calling the police.

Speaking of scifi, im now rewatching BSG. I forgot how every woman in this show is a massive bitch. All the writers seemed to have confused strong female character with being a massive cunt. Don't get me wrong, I love the show but it does get kind of grating when binge watching with all the women being super unpleasant all the time.

Honestly, I find most of the characters in that show to be scummy in one way or another.

Tilly's not a red head though she's a red giant.

I couldn't get into it, I find it hard to get invested in shows where everyone involved is an unlikeable asshole. Same reason I dropped Breaking Bad at the start of season 3 and have no desire to finish it.

I also was annoyed about how indignant the cykons were about humans being mean to them or torturing them or killing them after they murdered them with nukes and then hunted them down and exterminated the remaining survivors. Oh gee, I wonder why humans are so pissed off and dont respect them as beings, Kind of weak writing.

Saw TOS episode 4: Mudd's Women.

The enterprise saves a pimp trafficking three women but their ship gets overloaded and needs to go pick up spare fuses. It's kooky as hell, the pimp literally enters the ship as a mustachoed cowboy. At the end one of the women develops the psychic power of putting on cosmetics trough sheer confidence (she used drugs before).

I'm over exaggerating a little, but not much.

It was still pretty good. The show really plays into the frontier setting. They need to pick up emergency spare parts, find an isolated mining colony with three people on it and has to try and set up a trade with them.

And raped the women to breed human-Cylon hybrids. Which is really silly when the Cylons can look like Tricia Helfer and Grace Park. Harvesting sperm (and eggs too, I guess) is really easy, so nuking humanity is 100% counter productive.

The influence of contemporary westerns on TOS is one of my favorite aspects of the show. The absence of which I think all of the latter iterations suffer from.

I really enjoyed the first season, but bailed about midway through season 2 when it started treating the mistreatment of genocidal cyborg infiltrators as a serious moral flaw of the humans.

Also, there's 50,000 surviving humans in a refugee fleet that's narrowly escaping annihilation from said genocidal cyborgs: time for another dramatic courtroom scene where our incompetent pock-faced leader pontificates on civil liberties... Fuck Ron Moore.

From what I gather, the show did not get better in later seasons.

I actually liked Laura Roslin. She’s rigging elections but in a hot teacher-way.

Boomer ventilates Adama but she spends the rest of the show trying to atone for it. Dualla is the only person reacting normally.

Yeah, Baltar's trial was really bad, I would say worse than most bad moments in BSG. In real life, prosecution would have asked two questions:

1. Were you elected as President of the Twelve Colonies? (Yes)
2. Are we at war with the Cylons? (Yes)

Proof of collusion with the Cylons regardless of Gaeta's testimony. A president that runs a Vichy government is guilty even if he's coerced into it, so I interpret the not guilty verdict yet another case of Adama's general corruption.

I'm more pissed about the procedural errors, they were egregious even by TV courtroom standards.

I had to stop watching it and that was one of the reasons. I couldn't stand it. The first few seasons showed a lot of promise but between the strong females and the ridiculous amount of saluting I just had to quit.
