Would any of the props be worth getting? I never watched learing academy but would there be any cool trek themed stuff I could pass off as coming from a better series?

I figured maybe this was going to be the fumbled Two Chrises sequel to Beyond but no they're actually planning on doing it.
I predict 5-6 episodes of elf politics before it reverts to starships going pew-pew and probably the Borg.

I kind of feel annoyed on Scott's behalf. The guy didn’t exactly sign on for Star Trek when it was riding high. Now, decades later, they’re like, “Hey Scott, put the uniform back on,” after every other Trek actor has already been frog-marched through four or five seperate shows.
I know there are Enterprise fans popping champagne, more power to them, I hope it's good, but I have my doubts.

I'm not looking forward to it because it'll be the same political drivel as the other NuTrek. Archer will defend democracy, there will be a new Donald Trump stand-in every three episodes, there will be at least one musical episode, and it won't have Trip in it. None of the newer Trek writers have demonstrated any worldbuilding ability, which is pretty much what this proposed show should be chock-full of, so it'll devolve into a second-rate House of Cards.

They have one chance to do something genuinely awesome - retcon the finale out of existence. It was just Riker shitposting and Trip actually operates a successful motorboat dealership in what's left of Florida or is Earth's ambassador to Vulcan.

Bringing Trip back from the dead seems like an obvious layup. They did the same thing with Dan Connor and guess what, audiences love it when you undo your bad decisions.

Why did it have to be Trip? Absolutely no one would have cared if they killed Malcolm off in the final episode. It would have been far more thematically appropriate to his character as well. Even if they made him slightly more interesting in the last season with the Section 31 stuff he was no ones favorite character.

The only reason to sit through that D-Con Chamber with Berman and Braga is to hear their post hoc justification.
As expected, there’s zero reflection, just very confidently stating that it got an "emotional" reaction, Berman even looks over and asks, “Why did we do that?” Granted, Berman is old and forgetful, but his detachment is pretty funny. Trip was just a goldshirt in the pipeline, indistinguishable from the next. Braga characteristically pulls rank, reminding listeners of their combined decades of Trek experience!
Very self-assured duo, very slimy.

Travis was the helmsman, right? I think that’s what he did. Feels like I'm in that Galaxy Quest scene with Fred trying to remember what Gwen did on the ship and you can hear the grinding gears in his head.

I'd still take Braga and Berman any day. Like, at least a bunch of good shit happened under their reign. And the bad stuff that occurred is so hilariously bad that it still gets talked about.

The writers already have an uphill battle writing a conflict because the Romulans aren't supposed to make full first contract with the Federation until Kirk's time, and the Federation was formed in response to the Romulan threat.
Even Beyond was full of Enterprise memberberries.

President Archer is at his desk, tapping away at a PADD when an advisor enters. "Mr. President, the jury is in." Archer turns on the viewscreen, showing an Andorian woman speaking, "...and since prisons have been abolished, we have no choice but to sentence the defendants to death for the crimes of libel, slander, and treason against the Federation for their fictitious holographic narrative regarding the foundation of our present form of government." The two humans in the defendants' cage hang their heads and weep. "We're sorry!" the one with a combover cries out as the cage is lowered into the floor.
"Harsh but fair," says the president as he mutes the post-trial commentary on the viewscreen. "It's just too bad the phaser manufacturers refuse to let their weapons be used in executions, now we're forced to use Varon T disruptors." At that moment Vice President Tucker enters the room, with the results of his annual Donald Test in his hand. "There ya have it, mentally sane and fit as a fiddle, 'cept the doc says I need to put a little less salt on my fries!" Tucker looks at the screen and scowls. "The only thang I regret about this whole hullabaloo is that we couldn't destroy every copy of that tall tale they were peddlin'. Can you believe that some fools are swallowin' that guff?"

I wanted a real Star Trek Academy show and this piece of shit is what I got. Anyone wanting Enterprise back is likely gonna have... something like Academy.

The show doesn't even have memorable sets that I remember. You just could say some random thing is from Enterprise or Voyager and people would believe it.
