Star Trek - Space: The Final Frontier

Has anybody actually watched this thing? It sounds like a really stupid "Drug War" premise. So instead of fentanyl or coke or anything, people are getting addicted to virtual reality mind goo or something, “Tek.”
Why not call it something like "shock"?
I just need to vent a sec. Anyone else really pissed about Trek coming to Magic the Gathering in December?
Funny thing is that I saw a Joshscorcher video where he talked about a fan song about the Borg fighting New Phyrexia.
Yeah she just shows up looking cool and then sits there like she’s waiting for an Uber in the mirror universe.

She looks like Cindy Brady going through a goth phase.

I'm watching DS9 again and any time I see Admiral Ross I think "grocery store produce manager".

Anyone else?

Patrick is most assuredly best Admiral

Scott Grimes is hilarious in Orville. So crazy since the first thing I remember seeing him in was Band of Brothers.

Shatner seemingly likes absurd technobabble a lot. I don't blame him. I like technobabble too, but it should be delivered by sexy alien waifus.
Shatner had almost nothing to do with the TekWar books aside from coming up with some initial notes and handing them off to prolific writer Ron Goulart who ghostwrote all the novels. I haven't read the books so don't know if the technobabble is from Goulart, or was added gratuitously to the TV show (which again Shatner didn't have much to do with aside from his acting role).

However, here's a bonus TekWar fun fact I just discovered after some wiki-ratholing: the TV show's closing credits song was written by Warren Zevon of all people... The late 90's were a weird time in entertainment.

I thought Shatner was grifting his fans. No, you watch clips of it and it's such a glowing pile of garbage he was actually being charitable.

After those TV movies he basically vanishes, he's in it less and less.:story:

He was warning us.
Im watching Farscape now and she is so god damn sexy and I really appreciate all the fanservice tanktops they have her wear.
Prime Claudia Black made my knees weak.

yeah your cyberpunk is only as good as its hyperjargon
that's how you know it's the cyberfuture and not just a grimy shithole

The ghost story episode of Voyager is great. I really love the borg children. Shame we only got a couple of seasons of them. Mizoti is so adorable and Icheb is lovingly autistic.

Prime Claudia Black made my knees knock.

Prime Virginia Hey gave her a run for her money and she was still no slouch 20 years after The Road Warrior

Malarkey? That's slang for bullshit, right?

Mezoti is the most tolerable of the VOY children. She looks like she could actually hot-wire a Borg cube.

Icheb is shaped like a rectangle.

They're not exactly... Characters. The Enterprise-D had a daycare and Deep Space Nine had a daycare, VOY needs some daycare extras. But no matter how old the actors get, narratively they’re still playing Kal-toh.

There are so many catastrophic ads from the 90s but my real question is why Virginia Hey is the final boss of scratch-off tickets? Why is she on the Jack Palance set from Batman?

I feel bad for you, but I do enjoy watching MTG descend into gay nigger status because all the kids who played it in my high school were fucking douchebags.
Yeah I played it once, didn't like it and just bought cards to flip them later. Didn't quite work out that way in the end. This also happened in the late nineties.
Oh well. Some of the oldschool art is pretty nice though.

That episode was painful and gay. Rumor has it Avery Brooks didn’t even like it because it not only didn’t align with his own beliefs about race and the sixties, but it was also mega-OOC for The Sisko. Which it was.

A rare DS9 stinker.
