Jennifer Lien was so pretty. Shame what happened to her.
You forget Voyager had hot people on it. They put on those fucking pajamas and it's over. That show had an anti-fuck field around it.

Chakotay's supposed to be exotic but he looks like he listens to Dave Matthews.

True. All the main cast was hot except for Neelix and The Doctor and even then you wouldn't call Phillips or Picardo ugly.

Star Trek: Enterprise Season 7 Episode 19 "A Bad Tripp" - The crew throw a traditional Halloween party. The punch is spiked by a Romulan agent and Tucker has a bad trip. Captain Archer struggles with Porthos's habit of defecating in front of Merryweather's quarters. Hoshi learns a new language. Special musical guest: Puddle of Mudd.

Season 9 Lwaxana is telling fortunes, you will be Praetor, but you will be fucked by your bad choices. She shaved her head because she lost a bet after she got hammered on the blue piss Romulans drink and said she could do the dance of seven veils better than any Orion whore. She asks Picard if the baldness makes her boobs look bigger. Tomalak is doing shrooms in a bathrobe.

I have seen Outlaw Star, and I'm not sure what kind of CRACK the people who think Firefly is stolen from it are on. If anything, Firefly is way closer to Cowboy BeBop. Outlaw Star has aliens and space magic. The main character fires magic bullets from his gun that perform a magic spell and totally fuck whoever they hit, which it great for killing space wizards. The ships engage in melee combat. The unhinged narrator is the same guy who played Jet Black from Cowboy BeBop. It's incredibly kino. Nothing about it is that similar to Firefly though.

Firefly/Outlaw Star comparers, explain yourselves.
Yeah. The accusations that firefly ripped off outlaw star strike as similar to the accusations that star wars ripped off dune. Basically a bunch of autists doing the whole "you book is plagiarized from the dictionary!" joke dead seriously.

Besides, Joss Whedon would never be brave enough to have a Fred Luo character who never stops sexually harassing Nathan Fillion. He was like Andrew Dobson with his sapphic fixation.

it's Outlaw Star neutered by Whedon
he left in the suitcase girl and sorta western shit
muscle catgirls and magic guns and colorful things are fun and he can't do that

Joss Whedon and his writing have been a disaster for the human race.
That's rather like saying Tolkien's writing was a disaster. Don't blame the talented originator for the faults of his hack imitators.

There's an interview where he talks about the purpose of an ensemble cast and how to them and he's exactly right.
(Should be timestamped)

You can immediately contrast his philosophy there with like Starfleet Academy to see how bad they were at utilizing the ensemble. It's also why DS9 stayed solid throughout the run, while Voyager constantly struggled (they could never utilize the ensemble).

I'm not saying Joss is perfect or anything, but he understood what the purpose of ensembles was, how to maintain tone and consistent character. It's not his fault a bunch of cargo cultists came after and ripped off the superficial aspects of his writings without ever understanding the heart or core to it all.

Heck it's happening to James Gunn now (only he's also started ripping off himself).
