If they had warp, the Prime Directive wouldn't apply anyway. I could see the Ferengi arranging for this to happen at some convenient plausibly deniable time.
 
There's the Voyager episode False Profits where stranded Ferengi convince a native pre warp population that they are prophets to swindle them. I think there's some kind of explanation for why more Ferengi don't just do that but I don't recall what it is.

My only coherent memories of that episode are Neelix getting cosmetic surgery to pass as a Ferengi and an absolutely phenomenal amount of underboob.

CBS allowed Secret Hideout to go woke with ST Discovery and Picard and are now freaking out about how they're now going broke since both Netflix and Amazon have been burned and want nothing to do with their Star Trek productions anymore (also, other potential investors were watching and are now forewarned, especially with the recent Red Letter STP mocking). With CBS and Viacom merging back together, the company is required by the feds to maintain a certain amount of financial health which they were struggling to keep before everything ground to a halt and now they are absolutely not maintaining. Thus, a likely and probable course of action is to sell off the Star Trek IP to gain some desperately needed funds which will either result in Secret Hideout's Star Trek contracts being bought out or thrown out.

As usual, none of what Doomcock says will happen, CBS will continue to make Shit Trek with Kurtzman. Let's not forget that CBS published the article about the Humbling of Admiral Picard. I like the guy, I understand that he cares a lot about all these creations but he should stop making those videos, especially if there's no source and/or he doesn't even check if the "insider" is not just some random channer fucking with him. He whines about muh algorithm and how he doesn't get enough views when he makes certain types of videos (STD/Picard reviews, or stuff about obscure shows). JFC, even the Midnight's Edge channel is slowly turning into editorial content with sound effects and unfunny cut away gags.
Everybody knows that the right thing to do would be to fire everybody involved and remove Kurtzman-Trek from canon. That will never happen because these companies don't care about their fanbase/old customers anymore. It's the same with every other IP: Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Doctor Who, etc. It's dead, time to create your own IP, stories and myths or watch them continue to rape the corpse.

Yeah, I don't like Doomcock at all. He's pretty embarrassing, even though I am mostly on his side. He's just pure cringe and almost like a war-mongerer, just on our side. Not a fan of anyone who just spouts bad information for sensationalist reasons.

I bet you anything, there is a Discord somewhere with a bunch of chucklefucks giggling over how much bullshit they told Doomcock, that made it into the videos. I halfway expect them to keep a score of mentions and a ranking system based on how absurdly nonsensical the claim is that made it into the video.
 
It would be funny if an actual good Trek show brought back the Breen, and had Neil Breen play one of them.

The Breen were one of the better species in the Trek universe simply because in a show about explaining as much shit as possible with pseudoscience and exposition, the Breen were an absolute mystery. They're basically the Boba Fett of the Trekverse. Cool suits, badass reputation, we see very little of them and know nothing about them.

Like Morn, I suspect the Breen were a running gag the DS9 writers couldn't stop.

Sfdebris did have a hilarious fan fic for their origin. Toward the end of this review.

Actually the Breen DID start as a running gag in TNG. They were repeatedly mentioned but never seen. A lot of the time they were brought up when they needed a faceless suspect for some bad thing that was done. A lot of the "facts" about the Breen were just made up and thrown out there, such as being one of the species empaths can't detect. They weren't shown at all until near the end of DS9.
