The riots are part of the universe's ongoing conspiracy to make Stewart's Brexit obsession look as dated as possible. Next month there will be heat waves and the ice caps will finally melt.

I bet you anything, there is a Discord somewhere with a bunch of chucklefucks giggling over how much bullshit they told Doomcock, that made it into the videos. I halfway expect them to keep a score of mentions and a ranking system based on how absurdly nonsensical the claim is that made it into the video.

Well we'll find out if his rumors pan out - he said they've torn down the Discovery sets. If a Discovery season 3 trailer doesn't come out in the next few months, that will be more or less confirmed.

Edit: they may have already produced season 3, so maybe he's refering to season 4? Who knows.

/edit: Another thing, I'm quite miffed that the Stage 9 project was killed. It looked amazing. I guess the closest to a Star Trek ship recreation is the addon to Voyager: Elite Force? Speaking of which, the Mirror Universe Constitution class was a cool setpiece.

The lack of good Star Trek games/software annoys me.

We have PADDs, voice assistants, and VR - the stuff we dreamed about - and what we end up with is some freemium shit mobile games and a mediocre MMO.

I should be able to LCARS the shit our of every episode/book/comic on my tablet.

I should be able to say "hello computer" and get a reply from Majel Barret.

I should be able to walk around the Enterprise 1701 AND the A, D, and bloody E.

The hardware is there. The software is there. And the digital resources have already been made.

I guess it doesn't help that the people in charge of the franchise are fucking it into the ground, but the complete lack of games/software is just suck a fucking waste.

It's up to the fans to make this stuff, apparently. There's a fan project to rebuilt the entire Enterprise D in Unreal 4 and that is pretty sweet, but fans would pay good money for a software that contained the same for every major vessel in the franchise, even if it is nothing but a walking simulator to explore these ships. Then again, if the people nowadays were in charge of ST made something like that, you'd find Riker's Kiddy Diddling Sex Dungeon, Worf's cuddle-station with pink fur on all surfaces, the secret control panel with which Dana Troy commanded the ship whenever it got into a fight (cause she was secretly the one calling the shots and making the ship succeed, you know. WOMAN STRONK!) and so on.

Even Voyager had a pretty sweet FPS game, even the NES had a point-and-click style RPG... there is a drought of Star Trek games. Given the technology, there are so many things we could have, but won't get.

Any game made nowadays would be just a means to annoy the fans and force some more shit down our throats.

There you have it yourself: "Maybe he's refering to season 4?" Even I can predict that a Season 4 of Discovery is very unlikely. Doomcock was very "flexible" when it came to prove his rumors to be true. I mean, I give such rumors a bit of leeway, but Doomcock has a history of claiming ridiculous things and we never see prove, yet he treats it as facts as long as it isn't disproven - despite his long Spiel about how it's just rumors and yadda yadda yadda, once that is over, he goes through it like it's facts and when he brings it up again, he uses it as a foundation to built his other rumors upon it.

Yeah the shooting of the third season ended around January. Also I doubt that they will dismantle the Discovery sets, especially if every Starfleet ship in Kurtzman-Trek have the same exact interiors.

I agree. STD is going nowhere, they are stuck with a bunch of unlikable and unredeemable characters, they should just end it with the third season. I rarely see people being enthusiastic about STD without sounding like bots. There is no reason to continue with STD especially with Picard also set after VOY/Nemesis. It will no doubt be a nightmare to respect their own canon (hell, they can't even get the number of victims on Mars right in the same episode of Picard) so they should just let it go. At least with Picard they can scam people with some nostalgia bait.

I can see them dismantle some of it, but they will keep at least a few things around to repurpose.

And thinking about Picard just got me sad again. I'm not even a huge fan of TNG, but to witness these people shredding its legacy to pieces out of spite and hatred feels like the pop-culture version of ISIS blowing up Palmyra. Sure, Palmyra is a bigger loss for humanity, but in a sense, it has the same thoughtless, respectless attitude of hatred behind it.

I was listening to one of the recent Nerdrotic streams and apparently Robert Meyer-Burnett got cancelled and lost his gig on Collider. All he did was one tweet about the black cop who got murdered by the BLM mob. All his "friends" abandonned him too. He still works for Campea.

I think it's Ya Boi Zack who said that the SJWs in the entertainment industry are way worse than ISIS. They really are destroying every modern myth.

That'd be Stage 9, and it has been crushed by the powers that be. The fans would definitely pay, but... The fans are also not allowed to make it.

I understand that IP holders have to protect their franchises, but shutting down a fan-project for something that you will never release yourself is fucking terrible. They should have just gone "pay us a token value to buy the rights to do this" and they could have gotten a bit of money. Let him do it, they'd gotten a bit of fan-approval. They could have given him money and gained a massive boost of popularity.

But nope. We can't have nice things.

Exactly this. There are TONS of opportunities for these properties to make money with NO effort by them. "You want to do this? Ok, give me 1 quarter off every sale." (or a dollar or whatever) That's like what the whole idea of FRANCHISING is based upon (McDonalds, WalMart, etc) where locations are opened and run by someone else and the higher ups just collect fees for using the intellectual property.

Disney could absolutely have made their money back and more if they had just allowed franchising of Star Wars. Trek even more so.

The only explanation I can see is lawyers. Entertainment lawyers are such assholes, nobody can have nice things because a lawsuit might result.

Wanna bet they would never do this, cause they think it would devalue the brand, while they shit out stuff like STD or PlanIX From Under Exegol.

I booted up Star Trek Online for the first time in about five years and decided to play the TOS storyline. I thought I was in for a fun little 23rd century romp until the fucking Temporal Police showed up about three missions in and started taking over the whole story.
Still infinitely better than the STD and STP crap CBS made Cryptic put into STO.

Dang! Nobody ever suspected the robot sparking the riots to cover his master plan. Now I'll have to kill YOU next...
Robot, you're good metal. Too bad Andy Dick can survive even a good bending.

Anyway as for Picard... why did the asd;fjkas;dfjkas;ldfjkSfjk blow up Mars? Why didn't they blow up Data when they had the chance in TNG? Why didn't they blow up B9 when they had the chance? Why is the Romulan State or whatever something that can field a fleet for their dodecasecret secret police but can't do shit about refugee camp planet? Why can't you have farms on refugee camp planet? Why is even Nero's face carving rituals referenced on the episode with refugee camp planet? Why was there even a Borg ship there?

I'm making a point to dodge the hell out of that shit. It's bad enough that it's all over the mobile game with Mikey Hambone being an integral part of nearly every event.
Dodging the STD and STP shit is pretty easy as their quest chains are optional, the ships and uniforms aren't too noticeable and obnoxious. But Mikey Hambone's hairdo is fucking everywhere with an unhealthly large minority of player femme toons are wearing it.

Why? There's sooooo many better haircuts in Trek - and I'm including the romulan's.
