I don't know why animated comedy has to equate to "characters act completely insane", there were a few chuckleworthy scenes but when characters don't even act remotely like humans do it doesn't really resonate. Granted it helped that I lowered my expectations to the bottom of the barrel. The character insanity isn't as bad as in Final Space, if they'd tone back the lolrandom a bit, and the characters were just a bit more serious (that elevator scene with the two highfiving dudebro officers were the lowpoint of the episode) this could work.

At least the guy in Final Space had the excuse of being in solitary confinement for five years to explain some of said insanity.

Late in the series he was literally doing self-inserts with voyager.

So he'd be having a threesome with Janeway and 7.

Oh Pathfinder, the last time I felt emotional when watching a Star Trek episode. The rest of Voyager, Enterprise, and that....thing that congealed after never even approached a Barclay episode in emotional response. It also helped that Barclay's cat looked like the one I had at the time.

Nothing except "Dur hur the crew sucks" for an entire minute.
I dont get it.. I thought the premise was that they're a bunch of screw-ups on an otherwise average (if uneventful) ship.

How is it even Star Trek if everyone on the ship is so incompetent that they're literally crashing into shit every 2 seconds?

Because it’s “funny”. Isn’t it “funny” to watch Star Trek, only everyone is an either an idiot, a fuckup, or both? Why aren’t you laughing?

Because blue doesn't show up on blue.

Comedy works best in contrasts people!

It depends, if it is a post warp planet that had some disaster yes they probably would..but if they are pre-warp it would violate the prime directive.

We could also argue which era of Starfleet, but I imagine the twitter person is thinking Starfleet exists to elevate other societies out of the stone age or some shit.

She did say she’s not a big Trek person. Also it depends on what was happening in the context of the show too. Which I’m betting was stupid

Totally off topic here, but looking at the Picard, Discovery, and Lower Decks uniforms make me realize how much I dislike all the non movie Trek / DS9 / Voyager uniforms. My favorite is probably the Wrath of Khan uniform as that one feels infinitely more military than any of the onsies put on display through ST.

They're pretty good but they look a bit uncomfortable.
I like the jumpsuits from Enterprise and the TNG movies/later seasons of DS9. One thing that STD did right is the tactical vest they they all wear when they leave the ship.

The Khan ones look warm, which is probably why Academy/early career flashback Picard in TNG they lost the undershirts for the jackets.

For uncomfortable? Season 1 TNG takes the cake, I read those suits gave everyone back issues.
