More like Nicole de Boner. Zing.
I'm more of a Jadzia fan since I like tall chicks but I personally never had a problem with Ezri. Aside from maybe the fact that her character didn't get a lot of time to develop due to the series ending shortly after she was brought on.
I like to think of her more as being written like a TNG character. More than O'Brien and Worf, funnily enough.Jadzia was too perfect and came across mary-sueish.
Her family was also on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares or something, with Gordon Ramsay. Her dad is a real wuss and her mom's a bitch.Ironically, Ezri's actress spends a lot more time on the convention circuit than Jadzia's. I also found out that the girl who played Molly, O'Brien's and Keiko's daughter, is also a staple of fan conventions. She used to pair with the guy who played Nog a lot.
Worf and O'Brien were too human ("human") to be part of TNG. IICR, O'Brien was some sort of a war veteran, or at least, was very affected by Cardassian conflicts with the Federation. And Worf's story was tragic as he was a war orphan. When you think about it, the rest of TNG characters' backgrounds was very tamed. Imagine Picard, Riker, or Troi telling "boo hoo, my family is strange, they don't accept me..." to the kid who has no parents? LOL.I like to think of her more as being written like a TNG character. O'Brien was a Cardassian war vet, which led to the (really good) episode about his old ship and Captain Shawshank going rogue.Worf and O'Brien were too human ("human") to be part of TNG. A substantive plot point throughout the run of TNG was that Lwaxana Troi was a weirdo and that she didn't accept Deanna, what with always trying to marry her off to some rich handsome husband.Imagine Picard, Riker, or Troi telling "boo hoo, my family is strange, they don't accept me..." to the kid who has no parents? Lwaxana starts out kind of intolerable to me but the more she showed up the more I liked her, especially in DS9.I liked Deanna at the time but Lwaxana is a much more interesting character.
Imagine being Deanna..and having your mother hit on your boss.I liked Deanna at the time but Lwaxana is a much more interesting character.

I hated her at first but she quickly grew on me. The first episode she's in, Haven, she is just so different from everything I was accustomed to and I was like "She's ruinin my space vibes here..." with all the mood feeling and mind reading and girly talk with Deanna. Turns out I'd rather hang with Deanna's mom than Deanna herself cuz the only thing Deanna's got is her (completely welcome) inappropriate bridge attire. Lwaxana knows how to keep everyone on their toes in a good way and Q knows Picard needed that above all others.I always liked how she made picard uncomfortable, who was always a bit to self-assured. however after learning she was roddenberry's wife and going all the way back to TOS I had much more respect for her.
also, fun fact: she's the computer in every series.
