I agree. Never thought much about TMP in the bright light of "Wrath of Khan", but going back to it later in life, it has a certain charm. It's...cold...for sure. Almost "2001"-esque in feel at times. But the languid pace enhances the epic scope of V'ger. And fortunately a little warmth enters the film with Spock of all people, explaining his encounter with V'ger to "Jim".

Let's just hope V'ger didn't send Deckard to a planet with a bunch of kids.

What's the consensus on Wil Wheaton's latest woe is me piece ?
Probably better served in his dedicated thread, but I'll go ahead and take a shot-

Wil's a fucking bitter faggot with laughably predictable "daddy" issues. Thus his severe TDS. He's also married to a miserable harpy who thinks anyone who pays her a compliment on her hair is committing rape. Whenever I see a new post in his thread I'm quietly thinking "please be a murder-suicide". Unfortunately their malignant narcissism probably makes that option remote at best.

Keep in mind that this is a 50 year old man(child) bragging about saying something like this.

What a fucking faggot for wearing that shirt!

Yeah that was pretty much the first 2 seasons of TNG.
And that is probably why they were both so dull. Decker was re-written with a thin coat of paint to be Riker, and Ilia was likewise re-written to be Troi. I'm actually half-surprised that Deanna didn't swear an oath of celibacy to Picard in 'Encounter at Farpoint.' I guess it would have been too obvious if they had pulled that shit though.

In retrospect, I totally believe that we are better off without "Star Trek: Phase 2," whatever the hell that might have originally been.

Didn't they use several of those scripts for TNG though?
I only recall two of those scripts being used, the one where Troi gets impregnated by an alien (this was written for Ilia), and the one where a lady con artist impersonates a planet's devil and tries to tempt the Captain. (Probably would have worked better with Kirk.)

Just watched the episode where Sisko gets stranded in time and Jake spends a lifetime trying to save him.
It was a damn good episode, and a very good example of how to write a compelling story.

Where the fuck did writers like these go?

No shits given about that "No changeling has ever killed another" bullshit when it came to saving a half dozen others. His drive for justice was pretty damn strong. A good cop.
Like Dredd, Odo represents faceless justice, one who operates on reason, not emotion. Which contributes to the idea that justice really is blind.
Oh I completely disagree. T'Pol is fuck and marry
