The only really noteworthy piece of merch they made was a physical version of the Book of Spells. The only other things were a series of Funko Pops and some shitty Hot Topic T-Shirts.
As for the show as a whole, it was eh. I think the show worked much better when it was about Star trying to fit in on Earth and learning how to use her powers, while having random adventures with Marco and his classmates. Once they moved away from Earth and started focusing on Star's homeworld and family history, it fell apart because it just wasn't that interesting.
Looking forward, I don't think the show will have much of a legacy beyond "Hey, I remember that being on when I was a kid!" Hell, it barely feels like anyone cares now. I only saw like one article online about the show ending. In the end, it was a show with some fun characters, a handful of good episodes, and not much else.
I don't think any western kids show really benefits from widening the scope tbh
