Star Wars: Rogue One - Cat Party can't type a fucking title correctly so I had to fix this for him like I do everything

as the credits roll after another viewing this is the best Star Wars movie Disney has made.

Having seen the OT when released one of the big questions that lingered (thanks to the episode IV sub title) for us was what happened BEFORE that spaceship loomed over the screen? Not the entire back story just well what was written there. Sure eventually you could read books and stuff but it needed to be visualised in movie form.

One of my big gripes about the prequels were they ended too soon. Less Future Vader rolling around in grass fields more Darth Vader in he's Tie Fighter ...... but then again Lucas would have totally fucked it so instead I had to wait a lifetime to see Vader go apeshit in a hallway. Worth it.

If you want to see what happens before the opening crawl in A New Hope, just play Dark Forces.

Ok I disagree . well I like Dark Forces. I like Rogue One better with with how the Rebels got the death star plans. I was never a fan of how Kyle got the death star plans its too boring and no way was it that fucking easy to get the Death Star plans.

Or better yet, play X-wing. Better game, better version of stealing the Death Star plans. (Vader asked, "Where are those transmissions you intercepted?" Most subsequent writers forgot they were intercepted and thought they were stolen by hand. X-wing got it right.)

I can't tell you how nostalgic that MIDI music makes me.

I've said it before, but Rogue One is the best of the Disney Star Wars movies by virtue of being the only one that did no damage.

7, 8, and 9 were a soul crushing experience, and Solo gave one of the most beloved characters an unnecessary cliff notes version of his history that no one wanted or needed.

Rogue One didn't shit on the original films or ruin anything that came before. It just existed and within that frame work, its the best one that Disney made.

I had my issues with it, sure, but one thing it had going for it was that it really did feel like an adapted stand alone EU novel made into a film, right down to anagram looking names of the characters and the tie ins to the films. It was something I thought we'd never get. I also liked some of the characters like Director Kreenic, K2SO, and Chirrut.

And hey, it was basically Dirty Dozen IN SPAAAAAAAACE....that's fun to me.

Also the movie has many callbacks to A New Hope and respects its source material unlike the sequel films

I'd say that rogue one was actually quite alright, its way better than the sequel trilogy movies but that's just what I think of it, lol. I think that they messed up on the sequels too much. Rey is the most annoying hero ever that I have watched on the screen.
