So I found a little time-waster based in science. "Starchitect". It's a browser game (currently in beta) where you make a star, form a solar system, try to evolve life and watch the system evolve and eventually get destroyed by a super nova or sucked into a black hole depending on what kind of star you chose.

The time-scale is 1 million years a minute so it will take a little while before you hit 1 billion years (around the time you can try to form life on planets). Some neat little things you can do is place a moon too close to a gas giant and have it break up and form rings, or by placing planets in the same orbit, at the right spot you can cause collisions and create moons for terrestrial planets. Also asteroids frequently pelt your planets and gamma ray bursts, while rare, can really fuck things up if one hits when you have life on your planet.

So @Ariel @Valiant get your space nerd butts here so we can make systems based off of lolcows.
