Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

Someone mentioned that recent reviews of Starfield were trending upwards leading to it being mixed... I checked and it's not so.

Unfortunately I can't attach a picture right now, but it's 49% of recent reviews being positive vs 61% of the total.

...

It literally says that the reviews are "mixed" now, though. Wasn't it listed as "negative" before? Or has it always been "mixed"?

Both games were disappointing in their own ways, but people shitting themselves over them is the funniest part. I don't think there are any "Outer Worlds" fans, but boy are there quite a few Bethesda/Starfield fans still remaining(coping, mostly). Bullying them is going to go on a whole new level if OW2 ever comes out and doesn't bomb(remember, OW1 didn't "bomb", it just kinda flatlined a couple weeks after launch)
Anyways, there is definitely people who will have a fit if you talk about either game in a certain light. It's best not to take this "rivalry" too seriously, but it certainly exists(even if only in Bethesda tard's heads)
Nah, I liked the Outer Worlds, consider me a fan. It was succinct yet kind of wholesome.

Supposedly around 2.5 million copies were sold
>give anyone that has gamepass the game for free

>surprised when no one pays $100 for it

>surprised people could wait 5 days for the fanboys who did chuck over $100 to play it to tell everyone how shit it is. before even downloading it on gamepass

I know at least a dozen people who were planning to play it who decided not to after hearing how awful it was during the pre-release. even worse, STEAM's return policy for any game before release date means the smart guys who brought it were able to return it at full cost no matter how many hours they sunk into it

another fun fact is that the first (and probably only) DLC is technically free for any fool that did buy the $100 version, which technically means this DLC is free for a good chunk of the people who actually brought the fucking thing. Ironically enough the way gamepass works, the DLC for vidya should actually be a lot fucking better than the actual game because whereas the games themselves might be free on game pass, you are forced to purchase the DLC,

but in all honesty, yeah this game was a massive fucking flop. the only reason they're making the fucking DLC is because they'd probably be sued if they didnt at this point. No way in hell they're releasing more than the solo DLC too. Another fun thing to point out is that because of how you got the DLC for free with the $100 edition, it forces a certain price point on the DLC, they can't charge more than $30 or else it means they're losing money in a way, they aren't going to be able to cyberpunk this shit away, and a $30 DLC means getting fuck all for content now, i'd be surprised if its even as good as their operation anchorage DLC and that was one of the shittiest and unreplayable DLCs bethesda ever released. Everything people complained about with Dead Money in NV, but even less content the only reason people buy it is the dogshit items glitched to infinite HP.

I've played with the new difficulty modifiers for a couple weeks now off and on.

There was no thought to the difficulty modifiers. Most of them should add a fun challenge *in theory*, but because no thought or balance went into them, and certain glitches still haven't been fixed, they just make the game even more tedious and annoying.

These should have been added into the game in October, and I have no idea why these took 6 months to release other than the fact that they either wanted people to beta test their ideas for a survival mode or they just needed to add *something* besides maps to the game after 6 months.

The only ones that are good are Access Cargo Anywhere and Increased Vendor Credits, mostly because it removes having to fast travel between dungeon and ship as well as fast travelling between ALL settlements just to sell a single dungeons worth of loot.

The XP bonuses are pointless. Pushing everything to max gets you like an additional 3/4 XP, but when highest level enemies only grant 20 Xp it isn't worth the hassle. You can just crank everything to max before you complete a mission or survey a planet and then set everything back to normal and you'll be better off.

The maps are good. They completely ruin the whole "you need to follow distortions" bit for the temple search. Don't mistake this for me bitching, I just find it funny. Most temples are clearly out in the open anyways so it doesn't ruin anything

Not related to the update itself, but I'm sick of Bethesdas "random shopkeep inventory" shit. I can never find any fucking thing I need because of this bullshit, and it just results in me save scumming to find whatever the fuck I need. There's no need for this bullshit, doctors should carry a full stock of medical supplies, weapons dealers should carry a full stock of ammunition. I could understand the weapons themselves being random (still don't like it) but it's very annoying when it comes to aid items or ammo. I'm sick of this "everything is random!" lazy looter shooter bullshit.

I'm just disappointed.
For me it was just so unbelievably bland. There was virtually nothing interesting or engaging to experience within the first three hours.

It is a game that is somehow too open to provide a tight and entertaining experience but also too restrictive to feel like an epic open universe space RPG. It's the worst of all worlds.

Where's the DLC Bethesda?
With the failure of Starfield they're probably rolling both planned DLCs into one so they can meet their obligations to the retards that bought the special or collectors or whatever the expensive edition was called. Mashing them together is taking longer than expected and Emil's constant gooning sessions aren't helping either. He's probably paid to have a sex mod made for Starfield so he can bang Andreja in zero-G. Elianora is also delaying the DLC because she has to make 10 clutter filled player homes but she doesn't have much time to work on them between her BLM activism in Finland and sucking the CEO of Nexus's cock.

There were two DLCs planned? I only heard about one, the Shattered Space or whatever.

I wonder how the loot system and the modifiers work. Sometimes the game gives me tons of rare and legendary knives even though I never play melee, it gets worse when a gun has a melee effect. I wish I could change the effects at the workbench.
