They wanted to make starfield's protag fully voiced and while I can't remember what the exact reason for why they shifted, it almost assuredly wasn't because they contemplated the FO4 feedback and had a moment of introspection, regardless of the actual reason given. I think the only reason we even know about this is because Elias Toufexis spilled the beans that there was tons of PC VA work done and it was only later that Todd & co offered their non explanation. Could be wrong, I'm sure someone here knows the actual timeline.While I wish that were true, Bethesda ALWAYS doubles down on bad decisions. They’ve done it since Fallout 4 and only concede when something is universally hated like Fallout 4’s voiced protagonist or the Fallout 76 merch debacle. In Todd and the gang’s mind, Starfield is a masterpiece that was 25 years in the making.
Expect radiant quests galore, procedurally generated dungeons, total butchery of the original TES lore and a story with 16x the plot holes in the next Elder Scrolls.
