Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

Watching the Starfield gameplay demo and it actually looks really good. Especially like it having ship boarding actions.
People are actually impressed with that shit? You must legit be retarded.

It's all preendered bs. That's not how the final game is gonna be like or look like.

Still amazed people buy Todd's 1000 planets bullshit. Spore had 100,000 planets qnd they were all the same variation of the same 10 plants, terrain and animals.

Starfield is gonna be shit. It's overhyped goyslop bs. Like any overhyped goyslop, retards are gonna eat it up and tell everyone how amazing it is.

"16 times the detail." -Todd lying as usual
"OMG THIS GAYME CHANGED MY LIFEEEEEEE!!!!"-retards and bots on the internet

I'm amazed people trust anything that comes out of Todd's mouth, especially after Fallout 76, let alone all his lies from years before. But now it seems Fallout 76 has a copium handwave because it wasn't real Bethesda that made it or something, as if that means anything.

I did a quick search for "Patrician" and "PatricianTV"/"PatTV" and didn't see any mentions in this thread, so I'm guessing this won't have been posted.

A hyperautist who does massive retrospectives of videogames and streams analyzing them too, mostly Bethesda titles, and ranging anywhere from 3 to over 20 hours, has been doing 'work streams' overanalyzing every single piece of marketing, every interview, the steam store page, and everything else regarding Starfield.

Bethesda still does not have a playable vertical slice of the game, they're essentially sheparding journalists through savegames/savestates to show them only the least-offensive curated content so they can pass Starfield off as a thing that will be worth people's money:

Obviously most people aren't gonna wanna watch 8-hour videos sperging about marketing materials, but this guy even harps on about things like the trailers and pictures on the Steam store page showing bugged animations and models.

His shit got posted when it came out. I know some people find him too longwinded and autistic/high on his own farts but I enjoy his content as background noise when working.

I don't give a fuck about bugs, i just wanna know how long it'll take before mods get so wild I'm flying thomas the tank engine in space, fighting storm troopers side by side with half naked women and whatever ungodly horrors come out of the nexus.

Because that's the true spirit of a bethesda game

to be fair, a lot of the issues of fallout76 stem from bethesda going full retard and thinking they can use their usual approach to games and engines and do a competitive multiplayer game with it. even if it might've worked on consoles because games are less exposed there, it will still be a shitshow because bethesda games were always about letting the community fix it - which can't happen with a multiplayer game (or at least not one with a persistent progression and a centralized server).

I think it was posted before but yeah PatricianTV is doing a good job of archiving and running over what we know in autistic detail. His Morrowind review was pretty good and I watched it over a few days. The retarded lenght isn't much of a issue since he works those long ass videos in chapters so you can pause and pick it up later if you don't want to marathon 20 hours of Skyrim analysis at once.

The moment that livestream went online and Todd started talking about how it would be a multiplayer game I knew it was gonna be bad. I didn't expect the level of fuck ups we got, but I knew it simply wouldn't work because that isn't what Bethesda is good at and it simply doesn't mesh well with their RPG style to have such a multiplayer focus.

How much of a faggot do you have to be to over analyze a game you already hate before it even releases?
About as retard as PatricianTV.

His nit picks are as stupid and autistic as they get. eg. He complains that the dragonborn cuts their own hand in order to get a blood sample. Cue a minute of autistic rage about how they wouldn't be able to use their shield hand for weeks, ignoring the fact that you start with a healing spell that could heal such a wound in seconds.

He also claims you are forced to do the main quest in Skyrim, because even though you're free to go in any direction at the start, Riverwood has the nearest trader. From there it's a short walk to Riften, and if you're in Riften, you might as well start the main quest. Evidently I'm not big brained enough to know what "forced" means.

I didn't watch that one. What does he say about the combat, and what does he say about cliff racers? You can generally tell how sane a Morrowind fan is by seeing if they defend those things.

It won't be shit, it'll be good but not the best.

It'll be like every other Bethesda game; lots of content, none of it amazing but a good time-sink. And buggy but not game-breaking.

And then modders will pretend they're better than everyone at bethesda because they can spend all the time in the world modding with no budget or deadlines to stick to, while using the tools bethesda just gave them to do so. And then still only pump out trash that's clearly not on the level of the base game :story:

It's been my favorite gaming tradition since Oblivion and Fallout 3.

Double post, don't care.

Patrician is a morrowind fanboy. So the defence is the same old "combat isn't an issue once you've leveled up and can actually hit things, and cliff races are more annoying than anything but die pretty easy blah blah".

Also his complaint about skyrims MQ is beyond retarded. You cannot start the main "you're the dragon born" quest until killing the dragon at whiterun watch tower. Going to Riften doesn't do shit other than let you get that faggot brynjolfs profiling out of the way sooner. In fact the only time you're ever sent to Riften in the MQ is to get esbern, but again that will never happen until you've been recognized as dragonborn. And maybe I'm forgetting, but I don't think you can even interact with him at that point unless you've done a lot of sequence breaking.

Like for fucks sake, you can play more than half of the civil war and all of dawnguard without being the dragonborn. You can do every single guild. All the little side quests etc.

Again the only time you'll be forced into doing the Main quest is if you talk to Balgruuf or progress too far into the civil war. And considering you can easily play hundreds of hours without doing either, it's the dumbest fucking nitpick to have in a multi hour video series full of them.

I am really mati for that. Modders give out free shit.

Now, this will be shite, but still better and less buggy than Scam Citizen.

Kinda jumped onto the hype train with this late, only at the last E3 did I start getting into it. really been into space since I was a tot so a game like this is up my ally.
fully expect it to be fun, but not the second coming and everyone that is going to spend 300 bucks on it or takes a week off of work for it will probably realize how much of it was overhyped.
Though I did upgrade rig to play this, probably gonna steam share it from my friend and wait for a deep discount, probably gonna have to mod shit like the ui to be really good if it is console optimized, probably won't be Deck playable but if it does happen down the line that would be cool.

The main thing he brought up I'm kinda worried about is the amount of load times this game will have. yeah it is expected but you need to have that shit smooth for traversal to be appealing and not tedious. having only two SKUs because of the microsoft deal might be abit of a help since they don't have to make one just for PlayStation and modern SSDs can load fucking quick but considering it's Bethesda I am not getting my hopes up on that.
The way Bethesda approaches stuff like creation engine 2 is the equivalent of New York architecture, built around old mechanics and systems but still fundamentally the same structure, so IDK how much you can optimize that shit before it just craps itself. I want jank from that, but making me feel like in an intergalactic elevator will just be disapointing.

I admit that I'm kind of hype for Starfield. If only to see what kind of weird mods the PC community will come up with. I'll be likely playing it on my Series X, 'cause I highly doubt my RX 570 would be able to run it. I'm hoping to get a new PC built in the next year though, so that'll be fun.
