Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

Thank you Todd Howard, very cool.

You’re welcome.

I'm cautiously optimistic; however after looking into FO76 pre-release reviews I believe the game could easily turn out to be another FO4. I don't believe it'll be as crappy as FO76 was at launch, but I still won't buy into all the hopium around it. It seems a lot of journos tried to say that FO76 was just meh from their early reviews of it, but they didn't want to say anything overly bad about it, perhaps thinking they'd loose access to future Bethesda titles if they talked about the issues.
I'll probably end up playing it, but I sure as hell won't buy it or pay Micro$oft $10 for gamepass.

In the logic of an Angry Joe Vidya I'm gonna guess it'll be a 6.5/10
Anyone who wasn’t completely drinking the kool aid knew 76 was a terrible idea and a dumpster fire waiting to happen. Starfield looks like it could be cool, but again I don’t trust Bethesda at all. So unless you’re playing it via Game Pass (or just pirating it) it’d probably be wise to wait til after release and see how it turns out first.

I still don't get how anyone could have thought Fallout 76 wasn't going to be shit.

Besides the idea of a company known for buggy single player games suddenly making an online multiplayer game is just bad news, the second they announced you could nuke each other anyone that had ever even HEARD of GTA Online should have seen the writing on the wall.

That's not evne getting into them flat out telling everyone there would be no NPC's and such. It was probably the most open Bethesda had ever been and retards still didn't stop to see it was nothing but red flags.

There's a rumor that the reason for the delay from '22 to '23 was Microsoft going "lol no you're going to take a year to playtest and polish this shit", so it reportedly not being a bugfest doesn't surprise me much. Plus, I don't remember having many problems with FO4 around launch, outside of some optimization issues.
Why didn't they do that with redfall then? Has been a very bad year so far for microsoft.

Jesus, that mutt character there is a sight to behold.
I still cannot believe that armor is a single piece now. Lovely that the UI still looks just as shite as when it was first teased. Suppose they took no criticism back to whatever trannies designed it. The only new thing is the roster screen which looks about how I expected it would.

I think the main menu is neat. It’s supposed to showcase the vastness of space and invoke exploration. It’s a lot nicer than New Vegas’ clip art NCR Ranger main menu. It’s mainly Sony Ponies bitching and moaning about it. The Ponies have already mobilized to try and review bomb Starfield despite it probably going to sweep GOTY awards.
(Personally I think the GOTY awards are meaningless just like the Oscars nowadays but the ponies seem to think Geoff’s word is God’s word so seeing them rage will be hilarious)

I'm hearing people say the game is more RDR2 than Skyrim because there is a lot of "life management" (???). I've seen some people say this makes the game boring as fuck.

I'm also expecting a lot of drawn out and glitchy animations now :(

I am gonna hope that this dude went out of his way to make a fugly danger hair, and naming her "Sneed" seems to support that.

The art style is interesting. It is very "corporate clean" which is likely intentional but I hope that outside of the Gubbirmint settlements we get some more organic looking stuff that doesn't look like it oozes a ESG score.

The fact the armor is a single slot is worrying. It makes sense if it is supposed to be a space suit, but I would imagine you would want some extra armor on top of your suit no? Feel too simplistic. Yes I am still mad we don't have the Morrowind "individual gloves and boots" back.

The rest of the female characters look like they're gonna be worse than Outer Worlds, that said I expect mods to fix it but that's no excuse. Also Nexus will probably ban anyone fixing it.

Eh BG3 had female face fixes out already, no bans.

I don't know, there is very little hype, and the game looks somewhat empty.

But I hope it will be a servicable 5 out of 10.

The lack of hype could be caution, but could be also the skulking of a slanty merchant who knows his food is made with gutter oil and doesn't want to showcase it.

All joking aside, I love the art direction and the little realistic touches. I hope its good.
NV fans are unironically laughing at the early bugs while screeching at anyone who points out the fact NV was unplayable on launch. If they spent more time making their game instead of overdeveloping characters (ULYSSES AND CEASER) and NPCs they'd have a more complete game. Obsidian is dogshit with time management.

Usually mods that update looks are fine on Nexus. Unless its gay shit or political nonsense (or AI related mods) Nexus will be fine. And even if Nexus does ban the mods, other sites will mirror the mods. Loverslab (which is a wretched hive of scum and villainy) mirrored one weapon mod Nexus took down for Fallout 4, so chances are you could find stuff there...if you want to wade through the degenerate shit.
I'm not getting the hype for Starfield. It looks like a barren space themed Skyrim.
Probably the main reason why people were/are excited. No Mans Sky, despite the vast improvements it has undergone is essentially tainted and Star Citizen will never ever come out, and The Outer Worlds was dogshit.
I think at this point the public just wants SOMETHING space related, even if it ends up being mediocre which I expect Starfield to end up being.

Starfield has basically brought out the absolute worst traits of modern hardcore gamers, who continually make me feel like more of a loser for being into video games than I ever did when they were nerd shit.
And Starfield isn't the first and only game that has brought out the negative aspect of hardcore gaming. Most other video games 2010s onward prior have also ruined gaming culture, and Starfield happened to be the next in line to be a big ass failure.
