It's confusing. I thought I would hate ship building, since I hate Beth's previous build your own fun nonsense from Fallout and I did at first, it was useless and I wasn't aware of what I could do. Which is a shame, because having spent the last hour digging into it.. I like it. My ship now has more guns and cargo space than the Bismark and I need to start recruiting my Gainax bridge bunny crew harem. It's a good system, just poorly explained and non intuitive for the PC players who will make the most of it. Oh well. The UCSS Iowa will civilize the stars.
I've been slowly trying to get around the module limit so my ship isn't a literal fucking brick. I almost got it, but It's really annoying how ship parts are so spread out.
Also has anyone figured out a good spice farm? High-end food needs it all the time and it's kinda chokepointing my food crafting. Merchants only have like ~10/20 at best.
pretty sure people in previous threads already mentioned how overpowered shotguns are, if you notice he stops being able to one shot at full health most of these guys around level 20, you need about 8 shots to fuck up a healthy level 75 type
It's because starfield has oblivion gear tiering. There's Refined/Enchanced/Advanced versions of shit and they're all tied to your level, even fucking enemies btw. That's why those arbitrary numbers above enemy heads mean nothing, they literally mean nothing.
Same thing with the inventory. In your personal inventory, 'R' is drop. In your ships cargo hold, 'B' is drop; 'R' is Take All. I'm enjoying the game but seriously, who looked at this and decided it was okay
Not to mention B to favorite stuff, then while looting a container B becomes equip.
Also being unable to read books without picking them up, equipping gear while looting, or using consumables without first having to go to your inventory is absurd.
Got a key with my new CPU and damn the UX is worse than I thought. They truly stopped giving a fuck about PC. They have to bind keys like B and O but all this is supposedly easily doable on a controller with far less buttons? How does that work?
Edit: Forgot to mention you have to hit esc/tab twice to exit a menu, far more if you're in the map.
He obviously doesn't like writing for games. My impression of him is that he wants to do his stories like a novelist or screenplay writer but he's in the wrong medium for it. He's frustrated with players and thinks he needs to tard wrangle them to 'get' his story when really he needs to quit and write a book instead, but it's easier being on Bethesda's payroll...
It's wild how the landscape is full of faggots who seemingly want nothing to do with gaming. Games journalists all want to be working for wapo or nyt, writers want to be writing books or screenplays, and programmers probably want to be working for actual software companies.
Has the list of names the robots will say been data mined yet? I'm curious because I assumed it was generated, but some people claim they won't say their character name.

A lot of those people that hate gaming got in when gaming was the "cool" "hip" "new medium of the future", but wanted to bail by the time 2013 rolled around but found themselves stuck in the industry with no employable skills.
There was a great Reddit comment from GamerGate long since lost to time. I can't do it justice, but it was a fictional green text about a journo trying to impress his hipster Starbucks friends talking about games only to be dismissed with sarcastic comments like "What is Pacman doing these days?", and when he points to Gone Home, the GameStop opposite puts out a standee for Call of Halo More Explosions Edition and they laugh at him.
The exception being programmers. Supposedly doing web design and database stuff pays way better, and is easier to find work.
I do enjoy that there appears to be no point to this skidmark of a thought lol.
"There's men, and like, they play games? But in the games...because of...er, 2020? The games have lots of women, and the men they can fight people in the game? This is gross? I think?" What do you mean? What the fuck are you on about!
I have noticed this insane trend recently, of people regurgitating their thoughts; but the thoughts are just completely disconnected from anything; there's no continuity. Just like this person is a misfiring chatbot that has tossed up a series of sentences that make sense from a technical POV, but from anything else it's just garbage. I have no idea how to fix this persons brain except to give them a frontal lobotomy.
Oh oh now do the ethnicity of that majority male playerbase and how much more than half of the npcs are comprised of women, blacks, and other mystery meats. Goodness, how very icky indeed.
Where was this guy when real gamers were genuinely disgusted about women featuring in CoD for the first time. You could go round shooting women. I wasn't on board with that but it was pushed anyway.
The journoscum complain of misogyny in video games, while pushing for games to allow you to shank a skank and use landmines to blow their legs off. Welldoneyouplayedyourself.jpg

About 80 hours and in NG+, I am done. The first 20 hours were a ton of fun, the last 20 have been a slog. Heres my rambling rant about it. Also BTW do not go into NG+ expecting a ton of new dialogue, its literally come up only about 2 dozen times and I have done every main quest and a handful of sides.
-No interesting characters, all the companions suck. The only one I ended up liking was adoring fan, who was supposed to be really annoying, but ended up being endearing and nostalgic.
-It feels like theres less content than even Oblivion. After the faction quests and doing sidequests I still feel like there should be more. Its missing that ability to go into a random cave or vault and finding a whole 30 minute quest. Theres needs to be better ways to direct you to planets with quests on them, or at least better ways to sumble into things which is where a lot of the magic for Bethesda games comes from.
-Planets suck. Theres only really 10 real planets, the rest are randomly generated garbage. The only reason you have to explore is materials, and very rarely, side quests.
-Theres next to no space combat. Its fun when you get to do it, but it only happens in scripted events, or randomly while traveling. You cant really search it out unless you specifically do bounties.
-The combat is fun and snappy. But theres no enemies. You face either dude with gun, dude with knife, or space bug. Theres 0 variety to the combat.
-Very little weapon variety. Pistol, rifle, heavy of each type of weapon. All shoot different, and are generally fun to shoot, but theres only a handful of uniques in the game and less than a handful of unique looks.
-The faction quests are all pretty bland and uninspired. The only one I have come away with after doing them all twice for NG+ is UC was a lot of fun. Tons of combat, interesting plot, and really really good equipment rewards.
-You can break the game with outposts, I only did this at the end after hitting level 50. You can set up a magnet factory and just churn out thousands of XP a minute.
-The UI is infuriating. Either give me a scrollable list of planets, or let me fucking search for one.
-I spend more time in loading screens then playing the game at this point
-It has started to crash every 20 minutes. Crashing on saves, crashing when loading the pause menu, crashing when talking to NPCs. It is the most unstable I have seen a Bethesda game ever.
Ok I am going to go over the achievments I am missing and explain why I loathe them. Call me a faggot for going for achievements but I like doing that in these games to give me some kind of goal.
You have to manually do this one. So that means going to a heavy flora planet and clicking on plants 500 fucking times
Same as above. Not as bad honestly because you can do this while exploring mines. But those become very reptitive
Just fuck this one. The companions are all so unlikeable, and all of them hate when you are a dick, or even just a normal human being and not uWu cozy positive gaymer
Yeah let me spend another 100 hours doing nothing, or just break it with an XP farm outpost and waste hours of my life the same
This IS who you think it is, and the sidequest involving these guys is pretty good.
They trooned out Amelia Earnhart
The Cyberpunk DLC cant come out soon enough. I actually booted up FO4 for the first time in a while and was amazed by how much more interested I was in exploring. I am going to probably just play that until the new Cyberpunk DLC comes out.
TLDR:
6/10
Fix the crashes, add more quests, give us a companion people can actually like.
It's been 15 years since Braid and Blowjob still obsesses over women as victims in gaming. Dude absolutely has some skeletons in his closet (probably next to the catheter and piss jugs.)
Thanks to Bethesda's 'the player can do anything' design style and the coat of diversity they threw on, a good deal of side quests are me fixing problems and saving the day for minorities, w*men and fags by virtue of my MC power (being a competent white man). Even in zero G, the White Man's Burden hangs heavy.
