Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

Do you deny that anime is for pedos?
I wouldn't know I don't watch anime. Way to fixate on something retarded and completely unrelated to the point I was trying to make.
Anime is fucking gay but that's not anime. It's some calarts tier nonsense.

bethesda hasnt yet intentionally hided how bad a game ran on older hardware. what cdpr did with the ps4 version of cdpr was scummy as fuck and no retarded anime or dlc will change that
Not to defend Bethesda, but 7th gen titles were borderline unplayable on PS3, especially Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas. Not sure if they were worse or better than ps4/xbone cyberpunk copies, but even tho they weren't taken off the storefronts, they were still borderline unplayable. Skyrim in particular was actually unplayable past a certain point on the PS3 due to memory bloat
starfield is going to release a shitty dlc starring a tranny and everyone is going to exclaim how the game is fixed now despite nothing actually being changed
The next DLC was leaked to have customizable space stations, so it might just be wasteland workshop 2.0 without any substance lmfao
only DLC that matters is the one that does something with mechs, snake people or new game + anyways, so that's what, 3 possible expansions that might matter? that won't save the game, it will just deliver on the promises the game had before launch

It was a save file issue with Bethesda's engine that affected all games. Fallout 3, NV, Oblivion, Skyrim. They never fixed it. If you use auto save, or save manually over the same file rewriting it again and again, the file will corrupt and eventually break. This is an issue on consoles and even on PC. There are unofficial patches and mods that try to address but they are not perfect. As long you save a new file every time you are going to be far less likely to crash.

Bethesda is notorious for not doing QA. They didn't do QA for Fallout 3 nor any of its DLC which caused all sorts of massive issues. Including the first DLC, The Pitt, being pulled temporarily from stores and needing an emergency patch. Obsidian complained that they were expecting a few months of QA on NV from Bethesda then out of nowhere were told to just release the game without Bethesda helping with QA. 84 Metacritic score or whatever.

The Pitt was the second DLC, not the first, but you are correct. I still remember that massive shitshows.
I should add that I played F3 and NV from both their respective launches on console, using the same save slots every time(altho there are a lot of them), and I haven't had a corrupted save yet. Might just be a PC thing mostly, I do 100% know that Skyrim can actually be unplayable every time past a certain point in a single playthru, especially if you get the DLC and try to 100% the game

it's easy to shit on SK, but they had legit grievances with the contract, otherwise they wouldn't have involved the courts. and when shit didn't work out they used a shortcut to meet deadlines which bit them in the ass.

if it was a one-time occurrence you could probably blame it on SK, like a "fool me once". however there was also that bluepoint lawsuit where they worked with epic to make unreal engine work better for pubg - only for epic to turn around and then release fortnite. legal? probably. scummy behavior nonetheless.

the final proof was the fortnite stunt and timmy going even more retard. trying to play the poor little underdog against fucking apple, with a prepared marketing campaign of all things.

besides the tencent shit ("our shareholders have no influence" yeah right) and epic being a litte too triggerhappy with lawfare, I'd rather use unity than trust that company. at least they just want me to fleece me for more money, not actively fuck me over.
While I don’t disagree with you on how shit Epic is now, I will on this case because 2007 Epic and current Fortnite Chinky Epic are two different animals. Besides we have a lot of evidence showing that the man behind Silcon Knights, Dennis Dyack has always been a raging sperg who doomed his own company. I mean we can basically claim his the first developer to go on social media and shit on people who didn’t like his game, when he went on a sperg out over people criticizing Too Human on Neogaf. Even had this gem to say about the board in a interview after the fact;

"NeoGAF and other forums like this that don't have good management are not only hurting society and hurting the videogame industry, they're in decline, and they need to reform quickly before people stop listening to them," he continued. "If the moderators and people who run the site think they aren't doing any damage, they are sorely mistaken, and it's only a matter of time before something bad happens."

Also the lawsuits happened not only before the 2012 Tencent stock buyout but even before the 2011 internal game jam that gave them the idea to make Fortnite. Honestly I’ll defend 2007-2011 because from everything I’ve read SK was completely in the wrong and their company closing was 10000% their own fault. The Bluepoint stuff also doesn’t play any part in the Silcon Knights drama either because again I’m talking about 2007 Epic, who at that time didn’t seem to have any real drama. I mean SK was also not even a company anymore when that PUBG drama was going on lol.

So my final points are modern Epic sucks aids cock, 2007-2011 Epic wasn’t so bad especially since the original Gears games were awesome and Silcon Knights was run by a retard who bit off way more than he could chew and payed the price for it.

There's only like 3k active players at a time on PC and probably less on Xbone. I'm not sure there's even enough of a playerbase left to make a paid DLC profitable.

This is bad enough that they might just be better of releasing some free updates and moving on to something else.

Well thank fuck that people still have some sense, and realized that Starfield is the worst kind of corporate, bland goyslop game.

oh SK might have been shit, but involving the courts is usually a step above that level.
as for epic, remember 2007 is also the "those darn dirty pc pirates, pc is a shit platform" epic, making gears 2 onward exclusive to xbox - only to then crawl back with their shitty store.

When the next shit heap of a game comes along and this thread dies absolutely no one will be speaking about this game. We’re the only people taking about it.
Nah, I actually see a lot of hate on Facebook of all places. I'm constantly getting recommended Starfield fan pages and when I look at them it's probably about 75% people (usually Sony fanboys it seems) just constantly ragging on the game.

Sony fanboys are going to be talking about Starfield for years I'm pretty sure. Especially since most of their recent exclusives have been shitty goyslop, so they need to deflect to the only thing that had any hype from Microsoft in the past 5 years.

literally rent free :story:

How awful must your library be if you're salivating at the thought of Starfield like you've seen a juicy T-Bone steak?
I guess the idea of an open world game without capeshit or cutscenes, one where you can just go where you want and do whatever you want without mandatory slow walking talking sections just blows their minds

The Starfield subreddit is still a hilarious saltmine of "I've played 800 hours since launch and it's the best game ever" mental illness vs "nah it's utterly mediocre mate" realism

I'm thinking of giving the game a playthrough with a modlist I've had recommended to me by someone. See how much or little it improves the game. Might give updates as I go along.

Update: I haven't started playing. Setting this shit up is already annoying even with MO2. I'm halfway through downloading the list. I think I'm skipping a lot of the graphical stuff. I am reminded why I hate modlists and hardcore modding faggots with the amount of shit in here that seems really superficial.

I know I'm late on this but I'm at the terrormorph storyline and JFC I hate the "trust the soyence" angle. It's clear that using the creature is the safest choice and yet every companion wants me to release the experimental virus.

There's actually multiple other instances of the phrase "trust the science" in the game. Notably the back alley doctor man on Neon also says it.

This slop is ESG personified.

The "trust the science" garbage is probably the one thing I've seen almost *everyone* agree on is the absolute drizzling shits when it comes to Starfield. Even the fanboys seem to think it was overdone and in poor taste.

IIRC, the ending where you go with the creature even results in better relations between the two factions because they needed to work together more on it or something. So it's really dumb that it's presented as such a "wrong choice".
