Saw this in the State of Play and my first thought was the usual suspects would be moaning about it; actually made me kind of nostalgic for 2014. I think it looks potentially like a lot of fun if the combat is actually dynamic and engaging like DMC/Nier: Automata and not style over substance like Final Fantasy 16.

If this makes it to market in the west without Sony hand-wringing and removing any of the saucier outfits I will be astounded.

There was the video game SSX Tricky that had a Japanese character named Kaori, but when they released it in South Korea in the early 2000s, they changed her name to “Yuri”, changed her voice actress and gave her an altered biography.

No one holds a candle to South Korean gender politics and how fucking demented they get over them, even if they have trannies. On one hand you have the WOMAD/Megalia femcels saying little boys should be raped and castrated and an actual feminist moon cult shadow government, but on the other hand you have like quite literally every other story ever written there constantly featuring women being raped and/or violently murdered. A lot of things suck about SK, but culturally everyone there is stuck between transparently fake and soulless and exploitative shit like kpop, and edgy doomer nihilist shit, and all of it permeates this aura of self loathing that makes their rapidly plummeting birth rates and sky high suicide rates make sense.

Regardless, they're one of the only ones left capable of making games where everyone doesn't look like an ugly tranny or Debra Wilson copy/pasted for the 800th time, so that's cool at least. Honestly seems almost like a marketing stunt, firing femcels mad about that at the same time a big trailer drops.

Between this and Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Stellar Blade might actually be the first South Korean PC game that I might actually buy, as far as triple AAA games go. If anything, this could be almost as good as NiER: Automata at the rate things are going.

I do hope it runs well on the Valve Steam Deck.

Hell, a pre-order. Anything to support based S.K.s who'll boot this shit out of their game, and hopefully show their superior Jap cousins the American market doesn't want DIE approved genderblob garbage.
