UN Steve Bannon calls Kushner a traitor - + Manafort, and Don Jr.

This pretty much blows up the neighborhood. Bannon is saying that the meeting in Trump Tower was at best unpatriotic and at worse treasonous. Absolute contempt for Don Jr. and Jared Kushner. Definitely still salty as all fuck about those two edging him out of the palace so this should be taken with a few healthy grains of said salt, but damn.

Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon has described the Trump Tower meeting between the president’s son and a group of Russians during the 2016 election campaign as “treasonous” and “unpatriotic”, according to an explosive new book seen by the Guardian.

Bannon, speaking to author Michael Wolff, warned that the investigation into alleged collusion with the Kremlin will focus on money laundering and predicted: “They’re going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV.”

Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, reportedly based on more than 200 interviews with the president, his inner circle and players in and around the administration, is one of the most eagerly awaited political books of the year. In it, Wolff lifts the lid on a White House lurching from crisis to crisis amid internecine warfare, with even some of Trump’s closest allies expressing contempt for him.

Bannon, who was chief executive of the Trump campaign in its final three months, then White House chief strategist for seven months before returning to the rightwing Breitbart News, is a central figure in the nasty, cutthroat drama, quoted extensively, often in salty language.

He is particularly scathing about a June 2016 meeting involving Trump’s son Donald Jr, son-in-law Jared Kushner, then campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya at Trump Tower in New York. A trusted intermediary had promised documents that would “incriminate” rival Hillary Clinton but instead of alerting the FBI to a potential assault on American democracy by a foreign power, Trump Jr replied in an email: “I love it.”

The meeting was revealed by the New York Times in July last year, prompting Trump Jr to say no consequential material was produced. Soon after, Wolff writes, Bannon remarked mockingly: “The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor – with no lawyers. They didn’t have any lawyers.

“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately.”

Bannon went on, Wolff writes, to say that if any such meeting had to take place, it should have been set up “in a Holiday Inn in Manchester, New Hampshire, with your lawyers who meet with these people”. Any information, he said, could then be “dump[ed] … down to Breitbart or something like that, or maybe some other more legitimate publication”.

Bannon added: “You never see it, you never know it, because you don’t need to … But that’s the brain trust that they had.”

Still, great choice of allies, Trump.

To be fair, Trump fired Bannon like a year ago and at the time everyone was questioning the wisdom of that decision.

Looks like Trump even stumped right-wing pundits.

People have spent over a year calling Bannon a white supremacist nazi, now that he's in the anti-Trump crowd they'll call him a hero

They are merely pretending to be re'tarded.

Who? The guy was obviously a snake in the grass.

It's a tradition that if, for whatever reason, you have to fall on your sword for the President, you fucking do it and STFU about it. People who don't are like that slimy little toesucker Dick Morris. It's hilarious for Bannon to talk about treason since he's a fucking Judas himself.

Nobody likes a traitor, even the people who benefit from it.

At the time Trump gave Bannon the axe, there were so many newPepe's on Twitter squealing about "I only voted for Trump because of Bannon." The guy is a fat alcoholic and looks like a child molester, what he bought to the table Trump used up. They didn't really get that, they just saw Bannon as being the chief "Swamp Drainer" and this "great outsider". Which is hilarious given his past careers. Just because he turned Breitbart into an autistic hate machine doesn't mean he's an outsider, it just means he's an attention seeker. But no, in their eyes he was the leader of "Kekistani rebellion". They sadly were too fucking stupid to see he was a snake in the grass.

Now that he's jumped shipped though, I noticed his wikipedia has been updated. Those "He's an asshole, but he's our asshole now" pussyhat vibes coming through the screen...

In 2018, Breitbart and Bannon became widely seen as enemies with President Trump.[36][37] Bannon stated that Ivanka Trump was "as dumb as a brick"[38], stated that the Trump-Russian campaign meeting was "treasonous[39]", and predicted that Donald Trump Jr. would "crack like an egg on live television".[40] President Trump shot back and disassociated with Bannon, saying that he "lost his mind" and verbally attacking him in multiple angry statements.[41]

"Multiple Angry statements" just screams "REEEEEEE FUCK YOU ORANGE HITLER, HE'S OUR GUY NOW".

Everybody is focusing too much on the accusations of treason and not enough on the fact that Bannon straight up admitted Breitbart is not a legitimate news source :story:

I think this should serve 2 reminders.
1. Anyone can be tricked by an opportunist, don’t think you’re immune because you’re “#woke” (whatever you believe)
2. Only those who’ve been around these types of people (like Trump) can spot them, even then only with enough time.

Nobody cares about Shitefart tho. The only gripe Bannon seems to have is that the Presidency he claimed to support preferred to use information their own way rather than just feed it to his gutter fake news outlet. Of course, Trump himself was totally fine with the same fake news outlet when it was supporting him.

All these people are garbage. But Bannon is a backstabbing snake in the grass.

I never liked bannon because he looks fucking gross. I guess that's petty but he looks like the type of guy you'd cast in a movie to be a part of the team until he has a change of heart and betrays the rest of the cast. t_d is saying he's evolved from a functioning alcoholic to a non-functioning alcoholic and I can believe it. The dude looks like he's in the early stages of kidney failure. Andrew Breitbart was ugly but he at least looked healthy.

What a bold play by Bannon let's see how it plays out for him.

I'm gonna go with "tries to start his own Breitbart, his toxicity keeps anyone but the absolute worst from joining, it falls apart either due to his own incompetence or the Mercers nuking it from orbit"

Even that guy looks cooler than Bannon.

He looks more like the town drunk from the Andy Griffith show.
