Steve Scully believes Scaramucci tweet was result of a hack, 'authorities' investigating, C-SPAN says​

C-SPAN host Steve Scully believes his Twitter account was hacked, the network announced in a statement Friday, in the aftermath of a tweet sent from his account to former White HouseCommunications Director Anthony Scaramucci that raised questions of impartiality.

Scully "did not originate the tweet," C-SPAN claimed, adding that the Commission on Presidential Debates was investigating the incident "with the help of authorities," who were unidentified. Scully himself did not immediately comment.

Scully had been selected to host the second presidential debate, although the status of all future 2020 debates has been unclear.

That said, I’m still not quite sure why this particular communication is considered such a scandal. Can someone elaborate? If anything the debate moderator asking if he should talk to Trump seems pro-Trump, not anti.

edit 2: ok, I looked him up after ADHD mentioned 2017. It really would have been nice if the article mentioned he’d been fired for slagging Trump and is still opposed to him. Saying he’s a former White House communications director definitely does not give the appropriate picture.

My college had this speech at orientation where the safety officer or something told everyone that if you ever get in trouble for something on social media, just claim your account was hacked and any images are photoshopped.
