A common misconception with Steve Shives is that he had sanity once. It is my contention that this is not the case. A lot like many former members of Channel Awesome, and assholes like Dobson and Moviebob, Shives was always like this, and it's my belief that he was always seeking the proper environment to thrive in.

If you go back to his content taking on Christian loons, you will see that his discussion of them carries with it a hefty dose of moral superiority. He often attacked religion itself, on the grounds that inherently wasn't backed by facts, but always with an aura of insufferable smugness to it. When Social Justice came around, Steve latched onto it willingly because it gave him an excuse to feel morally superior to basically everyone. He made that decision willingly, and without a shred of hesitation.

I disagree to some extent. He's always been some kind of a douche, but he did have radically different views on the subject of censorship.

You look at his old videos on this subject, he really doesn't come across the same person as he is now. Hence why the theory surrounding his wife has so much credibility.

If you watch that video, you'll see that Steve mentions he borrowed a copy of "Letter to a Christian Nation" - which came out in 2006 -while he was "back to school" (which he did after The End of Faith came out - which is around 2004), and read it, aloud, in one sitting, to his then-girlfriend, who is now his wife. It doesn't say how long he's had that girlfriend that is now his wife at that particular point in time, but if you take the timing into account, and account for him being in school at least a year or so before Letter to A Christian Nation came out, then it's at least a good 14-15 years since at least he "went back to school" (and we can probably blame whatever he took in college in part for his radical turn), and he's had that girlfriend for at least 13 years confirmed if not longer. So yeah, more or less the timeline fits that his girlfriend/wife was definitely a HUGE influence, and "school" probably did the rest. Whatever he took in school back then was pure Purple Koolaid, Jim Jones flavor, and that girl was pouring it down his throat along with the professors.

I dunno why he thought he had to have THAT girl, and sell his soul to IngSoc Justice to get pussy at the expense of being berated for his unconscious sexism constantly.

Bonus points if he met this chick in a gender studies or other "sociology"/humanities based course.

As much as I despise corporate media I'll give them credit they don't advocate violence against others which is why I would be outraged if a reporter from a Network or something got attacked. But the YouTube and Social Media mobs mostly from the SJW camps do advocate violence and not just against bat welding Neo-Nazis but anyone who thinks something as "evil" as we might need immigration reform. So yeah I'd cheer if I saw Steve get beaten by trannies but not because its someone I disagree with getting beaten but because it would be karma for his past actions.
