No, it just had a huge fan base and media presence but then suddenly it disappeared off the radar. I was never quite able to articulate the exact feeling, but essentially there came a point when I realized "Wait, I haven't heard anything about SU in weeks. What happened?"

By this point, I had assumed it was over or something.
