Steven Universe fandom (Gemtlemen)

It was subtle but it was for things that didn't hurt anyone like making sure there were token ethnic friends in children shows or even earlier than that when we had things like G.I with very pro American messages.

That's as different from this as night and day. Those cartoons were created with the progressive diversity message in mind, and even that was far removed from modern Tumblrite notions of progressivism.

Which show was that?

Adventure Time. Lord knows it couldn't have been anything before that.

My point is people always tried to push stuff it's just now with the internet and useless 20 somethings they've became much more ham fisted with it be it from the creators wishing so or the annoying fan base projecting more than Imax.

I guess you're right, in a way. The whole Captain Planet type of diversity in animation seems incredibly quaint now.

Adventure Time, I think. But then the SJWs in the fandom jumped ship and moved onto Gravity Falls, and then to Steven Universe. Before Adventure Time, I think they did the same to My Little Pony, as the Dragondicks thread can attest to. It's an endless cycle; eventually, they'll get bored and find a new cartoon to ruin.

My dream scenario is they cancel Steven Universe and then MLP gets picked up by CN and put in the exact same time slot. It will never happen, of course, but imagine the pure rage.
The SU fandom would be up in arms, raging at CN for catering to bronies while dropping their favorite alien gem show, believing the CN executives in being nothing more than bigots who did it totally because they hate Steven Universe and not for more logical reasons such as ratings.

Bronies refused to get chased out of their own autistic hugbox, though, and the SJW diaspora has been salty about that ever since as they glom onto and then discard one fandom after another.

why do I find this so fucking hilarious, this territoriality over fucking cartoon shows. Aren't cartoon shows for boys and girls and everyone alike to enjoy (well for kids anyway, adults is a different matter)? Why is MLP, a show, which was actually kind of intended to espouse the same values (shows about girls can be interesting! girls can be diverse and still be girls! shows about girls don't have to have super stereotypical girls to be successful and fun!) completely hated by the SJW base for its adoption by a community of neckbeards, who for all their "love and tolerance" bullshit, can't even espouse the same values of friendship and accepting that girls aren't all just hive-mind whores that the show serves to teach? Why does everything have to be the territory of the neckbeards or the SJWs or the furry perverts or whatever else in between maybe it's just my autism speaking but I just don't understand.
"Autism" isn't even the right answer because it's likely because of my own autism that I don't understand the hatred and fucking territoriality lmao

After seeing the ridiculous drama started over kids' cartoons, I'm starting to seriously wonder if I should ever let my kids on the internet before they are adults. Christ.

I'm already considering looking into programs like net nanny and trying my best to not let them even know sites like facebook or tumblr exist.

Didn't Garnet's skin become more pinkish in a later episode? It's been a while since I've watched it.

Gems can change their appearances, so technically both images are correct. In other words, the message here falls flat on its face.

Her skin becomes a little more purple as the series goes on but that's just the character design changing.

The image is made to critise artists who draw Garnet with straight hair and lighter skin which is a pretty common thing....

Gems can shape shift but they can't change their skin colour and their hair texture always stays the same so....

Inb4 power level and autism rating

edit: I think I should add there's a difference between drawing Garnet with a different hair style and drawing Garnet with straight hair mashed awkwardly in a afro shape. You know what I mean?

the fans of the show use the sjw's as their trollshields. "i'm not as bad as them!!"
it's the same argument that the bronies have made "i'm not as bad as the cloppers!!!"

People shouldn't harass others because of how they draw cartoon characters, that's it.

They're really intent on shoving this message down our throats.

Autism: getting you overly attached to stupid cartoons since the 1990's

I wonder whats going through people's heads when they make posts like these...
"You are limiting yourself by drawing things I DON'T LIKE!"
And I like how the "creative" drawings are stereotypical "black" haircuts and you can barely see them because of how clustered they are.
