I typed "Steven Universe Social Justice" into Google and got this:

‘Steven Universe’: Many Dimensions of Fat Positivity

Steven Universe is a kids’ cartoon show that’s made a lot of noise lately, especially in circles having to do with feminism or social justice, and looking at even the most basic summary of the premise, it’s not hard to see why. For one thing, the show stars a radically non-nuclear family. For another, it’s a family made up partly of a son who totally disregards the conventional standards of modern American masculinity and three adoptive moms, all of whom are non-binary people who choose to use feminine pronouns, two of whom are strongly coded as People of Color, and one of whom is literally the physical manifestation of the unconditional love between two same-sex lovers who actually share a kiss on-screen.

Read: Doesn't give a shit, like other children his age. Also (and correct me if I'm wrong, because I don't watch this show) it's not like he's wearing dresses or toting around purses, now is it, so where are they getting this from?

MOMS! No wait - NON-BINARY! But also LESBIANS!

Do these people (not just fans and critics, but also the creators) realize that assigning gender roles to non-binary characters defeats the point of them being non-binary?

But, no! Gotta appeal to the SJ crowd, even if it means bending reality itself.

Do space rocks have biologically-defined sexual traits? Do I even want to know? And why do Ruby and Sapphire have to be in a romantic relationship? I know it's considered canon and all, but does it really bring anything to the table? To me they just look like two good friends sharing a chaste kiss or two (not even lip-to-lip, from the images I've seen.)

One thing I find interesting is what cartoons have incredibly spergy fanbases - most successful action cartoons made after 1999, for example, or all these shows with progressive or "deep" themes we have today. Is there something to explain why, for example, Avatar or Teen Titans is known for its spergy fanbase, but Rocko's Modern Life or Space Ghost Coast to Coast is not (as I asked in another thread)?

I assure you, 90s comedy cartoons had, and still have, spergy as hell fanbases. You just never see them because they generally keep to their own parts of the internet. The 90s WB cartoon spergs, for example, mostly hang out on an old message board called Toon Zone these days. I know there's an active community of 90s Nicktoon spergs out there too, but I don't know where their nest is.

If the shows were still producing new content today, you'd probably see a lot more of them in the "public", like the Steven Universe fans.

HE ENJOYS CARTOONS! WHAT A LOSER! EVERYONE POINT AND LAUGH!
now I can finally be considered socially awesome and cool here
I'm actually not a loser. I have a girlfriend and a real life and I'm working on my own indepeindant cartoon studio to make youtube cartoons. I make enought to feed myself. Your comments have not affected me in the slightest.

Any sperging about the newest episodes?

Speaking of which, I'm reminded how fans of this show basically Stockholm themselves into liking it because they're told to watch 30+ episodes before it "gets good." That's quality right there.

Their sperginess is kind of a different, very-lower-key brand of sperginess. I'm familiar with those guys, and the fact is, they're not lolcow material. (John K. fans, admittedly, are, but that's just one out of many.)

If a show isn't at least watchable from its first episode, why would you watch any more of it?

I would never say the n-word when talking about a lady or woman i found sexually attractive. I would take her on a date and make her feel like a princess. Those steven universe idiots (who i suspect might be involved in trollish schemes{becuse how else would they make such horrible statements}) need to understand how the real world works.

Remember when the UG crossover went down, and all the SJWs were shitting themselves over UG wearing a dress?

Well, in the latest SU episode, Steven wore a dress. So, you'd think they'd be getting their twats in a twist, right? Nope, they're going on about how great it is that Steven is challenging the gender binary.

I love the smell of hypocrisy in the evening.
