I cant even read any fanfics anymore cuz they always manage to reduce characters to simple tropes. One of my most hated ones is the super popular rivals=hidden romance.

I used to really enjoy character analysis but theyre practically non-existent nowadays :((((

I think people just get off on the character tension when it comes to the rival stuff. The good fanfics can bring out new ways of looking at characters, but I understand how you feel.

So I've been watching more of the show lately.
I think it's a lot better than my initial impressions. The world is unique and the backgrounds are beautiful. My one problem is that the character design has some poor choices, such as Steven having a cleft mouth and amethyst having an upper lip, but other than that, I think the show is really well made. My favorite character is probably Amethyst, although Garnet's cool as well.

Today on Steven Universe: Pearl very clearly has a type.

Also I have a weird FLCL vibe the entire episode and I'm not sure why.

That indie music was from a real band, btw. Mike Krol.

That's because the series itself isn't the shit show that a lot of people make it out to be. It's a fun nice little show. Puts me in perspective of something like the Sonic SATAM show from the 90s. It was good, but nowadays people just laugh at it because it's Jaleel White "You're Too Slow" Sonic. Steven Universe is a kids show, no doubt about that, but there shouldn't be an issue in watching and enjoying it because it's built for both kids and adults. But SU gains the stigma it has because of Tumblr. The SJWs essentially poisoned a show with their bullshit to the point where they're driving off storyboard artists like they're the Cincinnati Zoo.

Speaking of bullshit regarding the show's fandom...

It is a kickstarter campaign. And they already have double the money they were aiming for.

There's only one problem with that statement: Sugar's outright confirmed this thing panders to the SJW crowd.

I can see where you might think it's a kid's show, but the series really does come off as Tumblr pandering a lot of the time. SatAM also had a great deal of other flaws besides Urkel Sonic, but that'd be derailing the topic.

Stevenbomb is quite literally, the bomb.

I have to disagree. I don't see Rebecca Sugar as a social justice warrior, she's just making a cartoon that just happens to have lgbtq+ things in it.

I was about to agree that it seems fishy but I saw that the people running this convention also run a successful 4-years running Game of Thrones convention as well. So it's people who are experienced and know what they're doing thank god.

I hope things go well for them. SU fans are crazy online but at conventions they're all just fine from my experiences.
