I once felt bad about not liking SUF; I’m well over it now.
What frustrates me about Moore’s character is they’re such a non entity; outside of a stupid name and an ugly design, they’re only appeal is being non binary and in a supposedly good relationship with Sadie. It’s almost like they were designed to be a token character...
Yeah, I'm assuming Shep is also some sort of troon given the VA and character design. You don't get hips and shoulders like that if you're born a woman unless something funky is in the water.

I'm also worried about troons like Yaniv seeing this shit and saying that they feel validated by the character, thankfully Yaniv will see Shep's skin color and immediately turn away from it but you never know with 'em. All I can really say is that I hope that this is all we see of Shep in the series.

EDIT: Forgot to finish a sentence.

Don’t worry, judging by how the series is going, we won’t be seeing Shep in any major capacity...and that’s what bugs me. Narrative wise, Shep just exists to show that Sadie and Lars are done and to be the “perfect partner”. No actual personality, no chemistry with other characters, nothing; you could actually remove them and nothing from the episode would be lost.
Meta wise, this is nothing more than the Crewniverse going “See, see a human non binary character! We’re progressive, really!” while the show is on it’s last legs. And people eat this shit up.
The sad part is that I used to think this show actually had pretty good ways of dealing with LGBT content; the show in general became ham fisted ever since Rebecca came out as non binary in 2018.

Why do these niggas gotta name themselves shit like Shep. Its like when fanfic writers name their characters "Skyeighwynn" or when white moms make up 8 variations of a name. Just a way to show how "special and totes unique" they are.

Can you give me a picture of Shep’s character design, I’m really curious.

But yeah, as someone who hasn’t watched SU in a long time, I’m actually kinda NOT surprised that doubling down on the SJW stuff. I haven’t even seen future, and I may not on plan on watching it.

This is the best I can find, I'm none too impressed.

Jesus Christ that’s a literal Tumblr OC. It clashes with the other characters design wise and just looks...off. I still can’t get over how stupid the name sounds.

edit: Is it just me, or did everyone memoryhole Stevonnie as the non binary rep in order to prop up a shitty one shot character?

Here's a video on the state of animation that gave rise to Steven Universe.
tl;dr: Pendelton Ward of Adventure Time started the trend of hiring artists from Tumblr and not enforcing any standard of professionalism whatsoever, and literally stole IP from a exceptional child. He hired Rebecca Sugar from Tumblr and she got her own show where she repeated the same formula, and that is what pozzed Cartoon Network.
WELL NOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE

Of course they give it a dyke bullring. Surprised they didn't just plaster the trans flag or symbol on its shirt

Im more surprised it didn't have a "orange man bad" type of shirt.

In one of my works in progress, one of the villain shows is obviously non binary and it gets pissed off when it's referred as either gender...
I honestly can't wait to finish it and see how SJWs react to it. :lit:

Wouldn't be the first time someone's OC got into the show, remember Mystery Girl and the rumors about her being Zuke's WoW OC that 4chan seemed to latch onto? But you do have a point in them REALLY looking out-of-place, even MG wasn't THIS bad.

As for the memoryholing Stevonnie thing it's because Shep's a human character and not a Gem or Fusion.

Really?, I thought Mystery Girl was just a discount Rose Quartz.

I will never not be amused by how much Mystery Girl looks like the Tumblr OC from Plebcomics. I guess that makes Shep RCDArts.
But that really sucks for Stevonnie; they were around since the first season and were in some of the most plot important and character driven episodes. Yet praise is going to a one shot with no personality or impact because they’re human? I honestly don’t get what people want from representation.

Always found Stevonnie lame as hell either way. While fusion with gems "works", fusion with humans (even if its with a hybrid) sounds like something dangerous if not fatal for the full human because hello dumbasses, humans arent projections like gems. Besides, always found "it"s plots to be just a cliche storm all about "identity" (with the typical straight white male acting like a cartoonishly sexist douche with it)
And the thing about representation, is that SJWs dont really know what they want, most of them never had to work too much for what they wanted and they lacked grand purpose all their lives so this issue with representation is just part of their existential crisis, desperedly seeking place in the world...because they re such unbearable fucks that no one can stay close to them for more than 10 minutes. Dont get me started how representation quotas are so vague that in the end they just start "civil wars" over what is more oppresed and THUS deserving more representation.

Aka, all this talk of representation is one big cannibalistic pile of autism :c

Yeah, admittedly Stevonnie isn’t all that fleshed and their episodes can be boring metaphorical stuff; they still had episodes where characters were developed and plots were moved along, which is more than I can say for this rando.
(By the way, did anyone else find it forced and awkward when they used “they/them” and “partner” for Shep?)
Haha, the fuck even is this thing
