The ironically named founder of Stormfront has a long history of lolcowdom prior to founding the website. Born in Athens, Alabama in 1953, Black distributed white supremacist pamphlets at his school, leading to the local school board banning distributing political literature. In 1970, at the age of 16, Black travelled to Savannah, Georgia to help with the gubernatorial campaign of J.B. Stoner, a segregationist who bombed a church which supported civil rights in 1958. Sharing such wonderful company was Jerry Ray, the brother of the man who shot Martin Luther King. In an altercation, Ray shot Black in the chest after stopping him from taking files from Stoner's office and seeing him reach for a weapon. Ray was acquitted.

This unpleasant experience didn't put Black off white supremacism, though. In 1975, he joined the KKK, and ran for mayor of Birmingham, Alabama, in 1979, losing to Richard Arrigton, Junior, the first black man to ever hold the office. After this failed attempt at democratic politics, Black decided to do something a little more daring...and utterly exceptional.

In 1981, Black, along with 8 other American and Canadian white supremacists, planned to invade Dominica and restore Patrick John (a black man) as prime minister, who had resigned due to popular protests. Unsurprisingly, they were arrested and imprisoned. Black spent 3 years in prison, in which time he learned the programming skills he would use to found Stormfront.

Black has been banned from entering the UK since 2009.

Stormfront's history has been as troubled and exceptional as its founder's. As the first big white supremacist community on the web, the site attracted many wise and well adjusted users, such as Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik and Pennsylvania cop killer Richard Poplawski. Over 100 people have been murdered by Stormfront users since the site began; still, they will maintain that black people are all violent thugs.

Unfortunately, this wonderful clientèle is not enough to sustain much traffic, and the site's Alexa rank has fallen to 32,025, far lower than Kiwifarms (21,961). In August 2017, the web hosting company took the site down for inciting hatred; it is now back up, but has long since been surpassed by /pol/.

The site features a number of on-topic and off-topic boards, including historical revisionism and a "white singles" dating service. How many marriages have been made on Stormfront I cannot say, but I'm sure the children have a completely normal and respectable upbringing and go on to lead successful lives.

Yeah. That's site is a useless honeypot. And yeah, its kind of stupid for NeoNazi's to go around denying the Holocaust outright, when the next words out of their mouths are "14/88, Gas the Kikes, Race War Now"

There isn't one really. Stormfront is more old school neo-Nazis. Daily Stormer is white nationalist trolls of the 4chan bent. So Stormfront does the deal of pretending to be less racist than they are to make it palatable (the whole no saying "niggers" and "kikes") thing while Daily Stormer, while being quite serious about their brand of white nationalism, deliberately jacks up the offensiveness and trolling of it all to make it as deliberately offensive as possible.

The British National Party in the UK had a similar policy to Stormfront, where they pretended to be moderate to a certain extent with the intention of revealing their true selves when they took power. This all fell apart when their leader, Nick Griffin, was exposed as a Holocaust denier on live TV and made an arse of himself. Now they get fewer votes than the Cannabis Is Safer Than Alcohol Party.

With that policy having failed, it's easy to see why the next generation just threw that out of the window and went full exceptional individual.

The Derek Black story is actually dumber than that. The guy went on and on in his podcasts about how much he didn't like Jews, but then as soon as one Jew is nice to him in college, now suddenly he loves them. Now he hates the people who put him through college.

I guess it doesn't take Derek Black much to love or hate a group of people. Some would say it's a case of the apple not falling far from the tree.
