If Anti-Semitic isn't need then couldn't the same be said for Islamophobia as both are prejudice against a religious demographic? I'm confused what counts and what doesn't then.
If it's brown people, then white guilt... even though there are white muslims. If non-brown people, then let them die... even though there are black and brown jews.

So Ethiopian Jews and Sephardic Jews are members of the same "race?" I don't think so.

To claim there is no reason for a word for hatred specifically of Jews is ludicrous and ignorant. It is also hardly unique. When referring to hatred of Hispanic people, there's "Hispanophobia." Even the Romani have their own term, antiziganism. The fact is that Jew-hatred holds a unique place in the pantheon of prejudice.

Also, anti-Semitism holds a particularly fond place in the hearts of far left SJW weirdos like Mona Holland who infest Rat Wiki.

I can think of someone who thought Jews were a race. He wasn't known for his fondness for Jews and you could even call him an anti-Semite.

eh, none of those words are common.

to my mind, it'd be better to add a word mirroring "racism" to all common bigotry types.

- Antiblack, antiwhite, etc. become "racist"
- Misogynist, misandrist, etc. become "sexist"
- Antisemistist, Christophobe, Islamophobe etc. become "religionist" or "faithist" or "theocist" or smth i'm not a linguist
- Antigay, antistraight, etc. become "sexualist" (idk man)

And so on

That way specific discriminations don't get special emphasis

We don't have the Académie française here so nobody really gets to decide what words people use to refer to things. If they come into existence and are used, it's usually for a natural reason. In this case, it's that anti-Semitism reflects a unique combination of prejudices, from "racial" delusions to hatred of the actual religion, although most hardcore anti-Semites manage to believe both even when they contradict each other.

Also, the word for dislike of any religion or set of beliefs not one's own is "bigotry." When it is against a specific religion, though, it is entirely natural to use a word to refer to the group of people who have an especial dislike for that religion with a word. For instance, "anti-Papists" used to be a thing. As the phenomenon faded, so did the use of the word. I'm not sure if anyone alive has even used the word.

Anti-Semitism, though, is alive and well, on RatPedia and elsewhere.
