So apparently everybody's decided to strike at once.
John Deere is undergoing a UAW strike that they've hired scabs from among their white collar workforce to fill in. It's not going well.
Kellogg took the opposite tack and pulled in hoboes and drug dealers as scabs. That's not going well, either.
This is what happens when the politicians and finance geeks work for decades to create a dualistic post-cyberpunk dystopia. They keep industrial payrolls as thin as possible, and make it so that everybody else is either living a sheltered, air-conditioned life with 5 different social media companies and 10 different intelligence agencies combing over every millisecond, or is living on the street. When shit hits the fan, there's no spare capacity for anything, and this is what you get.
