Suggestion and Update Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
This might be already answered (or implemented and I just need to use it properly) but is there plans for further RSS functionality or is it kept minimal/not planned for a reason?

I second a call for a dark stealth style option. The current stealth style is almost perfectly implemented but the color palette sears my eyeballs.

On a actual suggestion, how annoying would it be to create a "lightweight theme" as a option? Given the spread of censorship and how many Kiwis need to use Tor and VPNs to access the website it might be interesting to have a option to make it so the amount of data that has to be loaded is smaller, making for faster loading times when on Tor or low speed internet connections, with things like making it so all images do not load by default and you need to click on them to actually ask to load it, avatars hidden to save bandwidth, no floating windows or elements, etc.

Trading the nicer style of web 2.0 of the forum for a crude but lightweight as all hell purer HTML one could make the experience on these connections less frustrating. The main issue I can see with such idea is it might need to be a actual change on the site's code instead of a style changer option which would be annoying and possibly a security risk on which case yeah better not to bother with·

Can we get
cowroll.gif
as an emote? It's topical and very adorable.

if on New Posts if there was a way to filter by forum/subforum that'd be really useful imo.

We really need to bring back the moderation and culture regarding power leveling and off topic sperging. Beauty parlor needs more moderators and more shaming via stickers for stupid off topic crap. It's a subtle but important change after the Keffals dustup, as older accounts didn't come back in full as new accounts changed the culture without realizing what was there prior.

Just my 2 cents.

About the ‘Highlight’ filter.

It’s useful to a point, but you get a mix of posts. You get the informative posts with actual information and happenings in the thread. You also get highly snickered dumb stuff.

I suggest some additional, compulsory categories that you designate your post, before you post it.
‘information’ versus ‘opinion.

We have had complaints in the long threads that there’s too much fluff, too many posts that repeat opinions and agree with the previous poster.

Filtering posts by ‘cow information’ to quickly catch up with the events, and ‘opinion’ so that the reader can skip anything that’s just other people’s ideas.

It might be too much work, and I’m sure there would be times it would be awkward. Maybe it could be possible to designate your post with ‘both’.

Idk. Just a thought. Filtering by Highlights is not guaranteed to get you through and read all the informational stuff like archives, screenshots, major events.

I know you don't wanna touch Xenforo, but this is a super minor one to solve some autism:

I'm sick of retards talking about the "reply bug". I am aware that there is no "bug", it's a purposeful feature to control the massive wall of text+quote sperging shit. But it triggers my autism every time I see someone say "wow @other_retard I can't quote your wall of text because of the Reply bug", and I think a simple UX change would fix it.

Rather than zapping the buttons, "disable" them and give helper text explaining, something simple
like this:
